Re: Will replacing valve seals stop oil use?

A quart every 3000 miles with 150000 on the clock? A lot of new cars burn more than that and it's considered "normal"; I personally wouldn't mess with it.

Re: Wheel alignment specs 2005 vue

Camber is set by elongating the lower strut mount hole if it's not sufficiently adjustable. Aftermarket struts tend to not have enough adjustable range to meet specifications. Expect to pay for the...

Re: 2004 Saturn Vue Electrical Problem

I'm thinking unless the charging system was checked while the problem was occurring then it can NOT be ruled out as the cause. That being said,if the voltage regulator fails when colder than 35...

Re: advice for winter rims and tires on a 2007 redline

Assuming you have AWD, all you need is that the tires are all the same diameter. The VUE BASE model came with 235-70-16's if I'm not mistaken and the 17" option is the same diameter as the 16's. I...

Re: Yet Another Remote Start Thread (YARST?) 07 Vue

I've installed a Bulldog remote starter on my old SL-1 and their web site had the factory wiring diagram for the car(this was 15 years ago mind you). Since then they have come up with what they call...

Re: advice for winter rims and tires on a 2007 redline

I'd pick up a set of steel rims off a base Vue (16") from the JunkYard and get dedicated snow tires since you'll have the original red line wheels/tires for summer.

Re: '04 Vue V6 wheel hop

Check the lower control arm bushings, ball joints, and tie rod ends. If you're not familiar with diagnosing front end problems get an alignment as the technician will shake down the front end prior to...

Re: 2004 vue Odd front end noises

Most likely an engine mount, but they usually get worse when put in gear versus being in neutral. You may want to check the rear bushing on the front lower control arms, there's a TSB out for front...

Re: Thougts on Timing Belt Replacement 2006 Vue 3.5

I believe it's 100K or 84 months whichever comes first; so unless I was thinking of getting rid of it soon (say before 120K) I'd get it done. Nine Hundred is not small change, however these days it's...

Re: Knocking noise during a cold start and over bumps??

" I can make the knocking stop at an idle if I bring up my RMP." which I assume means at idle you hear the knocking sound. You should be able to open the hood and hear if it's coming from the mount...

Re: Need help deciding on tires

I have an 2005 Vue, 3.5l, FWD and it has BFG Long Trail T/A Tour tires on it. I can attest to their snow "worthiness" as the Boston area had historical snow fall last winter. Coming home one night in...

Re: Brake and Shake

Whether it's 4 hundredths or 4 thousandth of an inch, it doesn't take much rust on the mating surface to cause the rotor to not run true.

Re: Brake and Shake

I've had the same problem on my sl-1 as well as the VUE, turned out to be rust scale on the hub. Since both sl-1 and vue use hat style rotors if the surface they ride on (the hub surface) is not flat...

Re: ABS activates while coming to a stop.

I'm pretty sure the ABS is integrated into the hub (it is on the rears), so you may be looking at replacing the front hubs/wheel bearings.

Re: Help please stumped 2002 vue 3.0 white smoke

Re: Replacing Rack & Pinion - Cardone or AC Delco ??

No opinion on which brand, but before replacing make sure it's the problem. There are many other components that can make the front end seem loose (control arm bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints,etc)....
