They should all be on when ignition it in run position (all OFF if in engine is running!).
Engine starts, oil should go out showing oil pressure...

How many miles on it, and how many miles since the transmission was drained, filter replaced and new Dexron III fluid put back in?
Should be done like every 30K miles at minimum.

You need to determine if the battery has a bad cell, or an alternator issue.

Its your call, $25-30 for an autozone solenoid, or seeing you have over 170K on what might be the original starter, I myself would just spend the $51 and get a whole new starter from dbelectrical...

As Alordofchaos commented on about the shop charging up the battery, maybe there is some very active battery drain going on. Need to find if there is a parasitic current still flowing when the car is...
