It's gotta be there.
Snap rings are designed to sit in their fossa/groove and keep every thing from shifting, that snap ring ensures you don't have it all fly off as you drive. :)

Fetch... the optional code is there beforehand, but the actual manufacturers code IS (494X), not X(494).
Just chatted with Michelin....they don't have any idea either.Said it should have a triangle...

Either the battery is low and needs charging (how old is it), or the terminals are not tight enough (you indicated the terminals are clean; no corrosion), or the alternator is not putting out enough...

When you say bone dry, hopefully you just meant that there was no oil on the dipstick, correct?, IE, you did not need to add over 4 quarts of oil, right?

I don't see any massive leakage, nothing...
