Arrow Can I eliminate the higer idle that happens while rolling? (Manual trans)

I would like to have the car idle as if I was not rolling, even when I am rolling.
2000 SL, 5 speed.
If it is possible how would it be done?
Thanks

Re: Should intermediate bearing housing be warm/hot?

Turned out to be the passenger side wheel bearing.

Re: Should intermediate bearing housing be warm/hot?

Thanks.

I feel like I'm gonna be up poop creek.

In that thread you said:

I don't see a seal listed except for the transmission on auto parts sites.
Anybody know what bearing or seals I...

Re: Should intermediate bearing housing be warm/hot?

Thanks. I actually have an IR thermometer I just gotta dig it up. I guess I was pondering if it should be warm/hot, or cold.

I suppose I could shot some grease into it, I have a needlepoint...

Should intermediate bearing housing be warm/hot?

2000 SL, 5 speed, I hear a buzz like a bearing, suspect the intermediate bearing on the passenger side shaft. I drove 65 miles home from work and felt the housing with my bare hands, it is quite...

Re: Strut boot noise solving

So, because it seemed there was no correct answer, I did nothing. The noise has slowly gone away on its own, maybe as the rubber "seasoned", or got dirty.
Maybe when it gets cold outside again it...

Re: Strut boot noise solving

Maybe a hose clamp around the bump stop would do it. Might be hard to get started working thru the spring with fingers.

Don't know, so you are implying they need to be.. and all that holds it up is friction of it being tight?
Thus glue would have worked?

Re: Strut boot noise solving

The boot is securely attached to the bump stop.
The bump stop falls down.

Re: Strut boot noise solving

Ok this is even more perplexing. :xeye:
I have used Permatex black and pushed it up over that thinking it would hold it, it did not.
I have used a glue called E6000.
I have used 3M spray...

Re: Strut boot noise solving

Thanks for the pics and instructions, but the bumper and boot are attached to eachother well, but they both fall down.
What is supposed to hold the bumper up?

Dazed Strut boot noise solving

2000 SL, new AC Delco front struts. The dust boots keep sliding down to the bottom, then whenever a bump is hit or I turn it makes noise. If I get out and with my hand push the boot up it stays...

Re: A long lasting set of brake rotors?

Uneven torque, another good point. The shop the car was at was actually for front strut and tie rod end replacement because I didn't have time. ( I do my own oil changes.)
They could have just air...

Re: A long lasting set of brake rotors?

Good point, though I don't think it is causing my problem I probably should replace the brake fluid. I can, and have done other older cars. Hopefully it can be done with the pedal pump two person...

Re: My "rolling idle" is too high....help?

So no comment on the IAC and solvents?
I'm not gonna lie to ya, I don't plan on removing the TB everytime I need to clean it. For most folks if they feel the throttle get sticky, removing the air...

Re: A long lasting set of brake rotors?

They didn't pulsate for the first 15 or so thousand miles which for us is about 3 months. Does that rule out runout? The pins look good and were greased again. There is no pulling to one side or...
