Re: Impounded

That's a good common sense approach Rick...but even if the judge is on vacation, out of town and/or court isn't in session...the court clerk is there seven days a week and should be able to clear it...

Re: tinny sounding muffler

Couple of questions....first...was it an OEM Saturn muffler they installed? You say you were at a dealership so I can only assume that it was.

Second...what does a hole in the muffler have...

Re: Airbag sensor.

No need to disconnect the battery, or do anything or worry about the impact sensor. Just R+R the bumper....you'll be fine.

Re: Any easy way to remove Power Steering Pump?

The pump only goes in one way so there wouldn't be any benefit to marking anything. There is no adjustment at the pump at all.

Re: Any easy way to remove Power Steering Pump?

That's right...you must know better than I do, I've only been doing this since 1998.

Re: Wheel Bearing Question

Neither wheel bearings nor CV Joints make squeaking noises. I would look more towards the suspension ie. sway bar links, sway bar bushings, ball joints, strut mounts, etc.

Re: Any easy way to remove Power Steering Pump?

Support the engine from underneath with a floor jack on the oil pan...of course put a piece of wood on the jack where it touches the pan....remove the TAM and jack the engine up. More than enough...

Re: Impounded

So....it's the cop's fault your driver's license is suspended? Maybe I'm missing something here. They pull you over, regardless of the reason, find you have no license....isn't it their job to make...

Re: Have a few questions about trailer hitches

Great post Sky King...I agree 100%. A properly maintained Saturn can easily tow a jet ski. A little common sense goes a long way.

Re: Have a few questions about trailer hitches

Nothing wrong with towing with your Saturn. It's more than capable. If it wasn't able to tow anything, they wouldn't make a hitch for it. A jet ski wil tow like it's not even there. If it was me, I...

Re: power steering fluid.

Saturn power steering fluid is clear. With few exceptions, I have never seen a red power steering fluid.

Re: Code #PO420

You need a convertor. They didn't "try" to sell you a convertor, they were trying to properly repair your car. Are you honestly telling me you're gonna trust the word of some guy behind a random...

Re: Has your sunroof failed?

137K on my 92 SC....moonroof (it is a moonroof) works perfectly just like the day it was made. Proper lubrication and maintenance do go a long way.

Re: my 94 sc2 wont start

It'll turn all day no matter what order the wires are in. It will not run unless they are correct.

Re: Need 98 sc2 manual trans. where to get one? What years are compatible?

Re: DIY - Complete New a/c System - Under $300

I was of course speaking about old Bugs. The heating system in the Bug is absolutely fine, save for an effective and consistant way to deliver the scorching air that is the heat from an aircooled VW....

Re: Need 98 sc2 manual trans. where to get one? What years are compatible?

Find a Pick N Pull. Pick a manual tranny Saturn...Pull the tranny. $75 out the door with a 30 day warranty. If you wanted to get real creative you could split the case and have the diff. pin welded...

Re: Not an easy gasket to replace, is it?

No need to watch the Saturn Grey RTV cure, it only dries with the lack of oxygen, so it is made to be put on and immediately put into service. If we had to wait for RTV to cure or even skin before we...

Re: 97 SL2 starter/electrical problems

In order for this to occur on it's own, you would need a multitude of failures, not only the ignition switch, but the clutch switch and the emergency brakes also. A m/t vehicle will not start without...
