Re: Saturn Homecomings and a possible article?

Jodie,

This inspired me to go looking - and I found an envelope that I stuffed all our homecoming documents into. There's the full event guide in there along with a bunch of other stuff that...

Re: Saturn Homecomings and a possible article?

I went to the 99 Homecoming. It was myself, my wife, and my 11 yr old daughter, driving from NJ in our 95 SW2.

First - it was HOT that day! My daughter actually got sick from the heat and we had...

Re: Muffler Expired!

Our LW was gradually getting louder, and hanging kinda low due to a few hangers having rusted away - and there were rust holes developing in the muffler. I bought the full "cat-back" Walker...

Re: Decision time - LW200

Well, another $600 invested - my mechanic did the water pump and I supplied him with the walker cat-back replacement exhaust I got from RockAuto. (He only charged me an hour labor for the exhaust...

Re: Decision time - LW200

That's about what I thought, based on my limited research. And the thermostat was just changed about 30-40K ago - knowing my mechanic, he wont want to change it again unless I absolutely insist...

Re: Decision time - LW200

I thought it might be amusing to update this thread.

I did not get rid of the LW200, it's now at 268,500. Since this post from a little over a year ago, I've done the following work:

Did...

Re: Spam

I have run forums in the past, and still do - but not on vbulletin - I always used SMF (Simple Machines Forum). What we are seeing is spam bots. Could even be on someone's PC that has a...

Re: Collapsed driver's seat L200 + repair

Found the secret little pry spot on the bottom! Got it undone, seat repaired, and re-installed. Thanks to the previous posters for the guidance!

Re: Collapsed driver's seat L200 + repair

Sorry to bump an old thread - but I thought this was the best place for this question.

I've got the seat unbolted and ready to come out of the car - but I can't get the power connector off! I can...

Re: UNL88: anyone use it? Pro/con

OK, I realize I'm old, but all this whining sounds exactly the same as when they switched to unleaded gas.

Times change. Deal with the changes or get run over by them. Another 50 years (or less)...

Re: UNL88: anyone use it? Pro/con

Yeah, better to give your money to those needy oil companies. I mean, they don't get subsidies, they're practically a charity! And I'm sure they would never ever bribe a congressman... :snide:

Re: Well, the time has come....

I fear I may be at the same crossroad with my LW200.

Living in NJ, it already costs me more per year in insurance than the car is worth. We've been keeping it as a winter car to keep the road...

Re: UNL88: anyone use it? Pro/con

I don't think the intent was to make it a bargain. I think the intent was to come up with a renewable, cleaner burning fuel.

Some people argue that when you consider the process of making the...

Re: Saturn Craigslist Deal of the Day!

No, not a special edition. Also probably not black as listed - I think that's what Saturn called "Black Gold" - my wife nicknamed it "root beer". In the bright sun you can see that it's really a...

Re: Check your spare tire!!!

So here's what I decided to do - I bought another space saver spare from a junkyard via eBay. I had him send me a closeup of the tire's date code - which showed it was 3.5 years newer than mine. ...

Check your spare tire!!!

About twice a year I check all the spare tires on all my vehicles. I probably last checked the spare on my LW200 around early winter - and if I followed my usual pattern, I would have topped off the...

Re: Saturn Craigslist Deal of the Day!

Also - what mainstream dealer puts a high mileage car on their lot anyhow? Most of them wholesale anything with more than 100K on it.
