Re: Another Flexpipe

At the beginning of the weekend I went through the trouble of wrapping the cracked portion with fibre glass matting, light gauge sheet metal and then a stainless steel band clamp (more sheet metal...

Re: XE Rear Doors - Wiring

My guess would be that if, it was mostly working before and now nothing is working then you have switched/crossed wires while splicing. The crossed wires are possibly causing an in series circuit...

Re: Another Flexpipe

Going to add a little more detail, or confusion. These pics are from the respective websites, which may or may not be showing the real thing.

The first image is from Mufflerexpress, the second...

Re: Another Flexpipe

So... I'm still working on this. Its looking like the easiest or simplest way to do this will be to replace the whole section, flange to first muffler/resonator. I went under the car again and...

Thought I'd try here as nothing has come up in Astra General.

Flexpipe on my car decided to crack. This must be like the fourth flexpipe on this car, so I'm running into a problem in front of the...

Re: Front-end Tire Wear

No worn out parts jumped out at me when I had the front off the ground. Tie-rod ends, control arms, ball joints all seem tight. I've done a front yard alignment for the time being. Installed...

Another Flexpipe

So yesterday the flexpipe on my car decided to crack. Solved the annoying clang of the tail pipe on the trailer hitch. Cause most of my driving is up around 80-90 kph I don't really notice it, the...

Re: Front-end Tire Wear

Thanks guys for the input.

In the next day or so I'll lift the car to see what's going on.

Like I say, didn't realize there was an issue until the other day. My driveway has turned into a clay...

Front-end Tire Wear

So I’m kind of scratching my head on this one.

Just noticed that I have excessive inner tire wear on the front end of my XE. The tires are Cooper Starfire RS-C2.0, just daily driver stuff. Tread...

Re: Pulling slightly right

Hum... posting to the wrong forum for a Saturn Ion, and its a very old thread.

That said...

Assuming this a new issue, and your vehicle is high mileage. I'd be looking at a host of things in...

Re: XE Rear Doors - Wiring

I do believe you're right that it is PVC insulation on the wires. Unfortunately by the time we found out there was an issue, it was to late. One doesn't think of preventative maintenance on a car as...

Re: XE Rear Doors - Wiring

Thanks for getting back. Yes on these cars, or any car I guess, you just get to a point and live with it. Particularly if it involves dismantling the interior.

I'm all to familiar with the "rain...

Re: Any help would be great

I'm no authority on the internal workings of a manual transmission, so had to Google--> Release Bearing.

Interesting result:

This applies force to the release...

Re: P065E code coming up again.

Interesting to note. I've noticed a marginal decline in performance, mostly attribute it to Winter gas.

Can you say where you got the sensors, seem like a good price.

Re: 2008 astra xr parts for sale

Thanks for the heads up on the Connects2 adapters.

Considering the overwhelming number of adapters they have, can you say what the model was and I can go from there.

Re: 2008 astra xr parts for sale

It occurred to me while driving down, around, and back from the City yesterday, having "low washer fluid level" displayed for 90% of the trip. Do you have an OEM radio? I bought my car with an...

Re: Water getting in through a closed door

All my efforts seem to have been for not.

I have a driveway now that has a slight grade, maybe 2" in 36". Recently after 2 days of heavy rain I discovered a small lake in the carpet behind the...

So... I'm not sure if you solved your original problem or got sidetrack with coolant system flushes.

My experience with this message was about the time I got the car, maybe 4 years ago.

My...

Re: Rear Brake Problem

There is definitely a down side to moving out to the country. Nearest CT or NAPA is 20 km away and no second car. My brake tools are of course at another location, another 20 km beyond that. ...
