You may want to get a different mechanic. Self adjusting hydraulic system. A quick visual inspection would show hydraulic lines instead of mechanical linkages.

The wire from the alternator goes on the same post as the wire from the battery.
The picture shows that the alternator wire is on the post that seems to have the wire going into the starter motor....

If you think that the bleeder is blocked remove it and clean it with small drill bits. You should be able to blow air through it if it is not blocked.

You don't fill the Honda transmission through the dipstick tube. You fill it through the fill plug on the top of the transmission.
Make sure you are removing the correct plug.

Your father in law needs to rethink things. Dual diagonal system.

One front and one rear on the opposite side are on a circuit and the other circuit is the other front and and other rear.

Modern coils are able to produce a lot of voltage to over come large plug gaps.

So if after 100,000 plus miles of driving on them they can be worn/worn out and still let the engine run fairly...

Make sure that the ground for the blower motor is good, provide another ground and see if the blower runs.

Rubbing on the one rotor only not both sides?

Down and dirty...swap the rotors side to side to see if the problem follows the rotors or stays on the one side.

If you installed the transmission with the torque converter not properly engaged into the oil pump drive lugs you may have damaged or broken the oil pump drive.
