Re: The 2012 Virtual Saturn Reunion Starts Now

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is doing well. I still own and drive two Saturns. I am grateful to Charlie for keeping the site up because it remains very useful for technical information when I need...

Re: Goodbye Saturn: Thanks for the Ride (1985-2010)

You said it all very well Charlie. There is little that I can add. Hopefully the knowledge and experience gained from Saturn will live on in the remaining GM brands but that is entirely up to GM at...

Part of GM Spring Hill Property To Be Saved as Civil War Historic Site

Spring Hill played a brief but important role in the Nashville Campaign of 1864. One of the bloodiest slaughters of the war occurred just north of Spring Hill at the Battle of Franklin where the...

Re: Rusty Chevrolet: Merry Christmas from SaturnFans.com

Merry Christmas Charlie. Thanks for keeping the website up and running. I have little interest in talking about Saturn Corporation any more than I do anything else that is dead but the technical...

Re: GM paid Girsky $1.4 million in bid to save Saturn

The failure of GM/Saturn is now an established fact and has little to do with Mr. Girsky. Perhaps what you assert about GM management is true, but if so that is all the more reason to have people...

Re: GM paid Girsky $1.4 million in bid to save Saturn

I know nothing about Mr. Girsky but no one should be surprised that GM spent that amount of money trying to get the best advice on what to do with Saturn. The GM Board and management had an...

Re: Doomed Saturns, Hummers make assembly-line curtain calls

You have to wonder who will sell these Outlooks now that the Saturn retailer network has largely disappeared. Could they be fleet sales too?

Re: General Motors to Commemorate Launch of Chevrolet Traverse at Spring Hill Plant

Perhaps, but I would hope the government owners would force GM to either use it or sell it before that happens. Fairly recently constructed buildings served by a railhead and an interstate level...

Re: Jill Lajdziak to Join Smart U.S.A.

Penske is an extremely smart businessman who has a reputation of hiring very capable people and placing high demands on them. He is all about being successful in almost everything he does. According...

Re: GM May Complete Saturn Shutdown by the End of March, Not October 2010 as Previous

OK so they let her walk off the ship at some island rather than throw her off into shark infested waters. Either way, I doubt it was the career move she was contemplating up to a few months ago....

Devil Re: GM May Complete Saturn Shutdown by the End of March, Not October 2010 as Previous

Keep smiling while you spin this story, Susan Docherty. One day if your sales don't meet expectations they'll decide that you too are expendable and you'll walk the plank just like Cynthia, Annette...

Re: Thoughts on opening an "Independent Saturn Dealer"

It might work for a relatively short time but as current Saturns become older and no longer can be considered late model used cars, your business would have to evolve into a specialty sales and...

Re: Fisker to Purchase Former Delaware Saturn Plant to Build Plug-in Hybrid Cars

$39,900 AFTER tax credits is affordable? Anyone trying to sell a new car at that MSRP had also better hope the credit situation loosens up because currently in the credit market a large number of...

Re: GM: Vue-Based Buick SUV Has Been Canceled

The VUE is a competitive and desirable vehicle that has shown it can survive in the marketplace. GM simply has no brand to accommodate it. There is a huge gap in customer perception between Chevy and...

Re: 2.4 and other questions

I've owned a 2.2L ION and a 2.4. I much prefer the 2.4 for reasons that have already been noted by others on this thread. At its affordable selling price, the 2.4L ION could have been a MUCH bigger...

Re: Got a new letter from Jill today

I got the letter and I think its a good move on Jill's and Saturn's part. Penske has a better business reputation than GM right now and I believe it is equally important for Saturn to tell current...

Re: Buick Will Receive the Innovative Plug-in, Two-Mode Powertrain that was Promised

I don't think anyone was "robbed". You certainly can't blame GM for trying to get a return on their own R and D expenditures related to this powertrain. Since we the US taxpayers now own 60% of GM, I...

Re: Is the 'new' Saturn affordable? In a word, no.

The Saturn prices in many if not most locations have been below MSRP for months. The actual market price is the real price, not what the web site says before the incentives are taken into account....

Re: Thinking of trading for a 09 VUE XE, 2.4L

If you have this kind of...
