Re: High engine fan speed in cold weather...a brief story...

Iac cannot control the idle speed. Can your code reader give you any readings on the iac position? If it is closing off the idle air bypass port Like it should and there are no vacuum leaks then the...

Re: High engine fan speed in cold weather...a brief story...

The P0507 is strictly a high idle speed code.

I just went through this with my 454 1995 Chevy shop truck. My old truck only sets two digit codes so that is how I missed it.

What I had was that...

Re: 2000 L Series Service Manual

2000 and 2001 are very similar. Be aware this is only part of a set but will have lots of good information. My 2002 set consists of four binders full of many separate manuals.

Re: 2002 L200 2.2 litre ecotec- crank no start

Pictures take forever to load where I am, but by your description I bet it is the motor mount bracket that bolts to the block. Indeed there are three bolts with 18 mm heads that hold that piece to...

Re: 2002 L200 2.2 litre ecotec- crank no start

First check your compression. If the timing chain has failed the engine has to come part for repairs. If you have low or zero compression in any cylinders remove the cam cover before worrying about...

Re: 2002 L200 2.2 litre ecotec- crank no start

If it quit while driving and cranks but wonít fire I would check compression before buying any parts.

Re: 2001 L200 cooling fan not working

Each fan is a two speed fan, they run the fans in series to get the third low speed.
Just like they run the headlights in series to cut the voltage for the daytime running lights. Please refer to...

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - DNJ Engine Overhaul Kit - Anyone?

I agree the sensor in your picture is the oil pressure sensor on a V-6 L81 engine. Oil pressure sensors are a known source of oil leaks.

Re: coolant leak

2.2L water pumps are driven by the balance shaft chain. There is a physical separation that will not allow coolant to enter the engine. The weep hole is between the coolant part of the pump and the...

Re: 2001 L200 cooling fan not working

I had a ground issue affecting both fans. I only noticed because the horn quit working. There is a ground splice below the fan controller where all things front body ground. Brilliant GM put...

I have found the water pump to be the most common leak. It is difficult to see without a lift.

Re: 2001 L200 cooling fans work intermittently

There is a ground splice for the fans and several other items just ahead of the battery below the fan control box. I actually took the splice apart and cleaned the grounds. This solved my...

Re: 2002 Saturn L200

It looks like none of the actuators interchange, in fact the mode actuator is different between the automatic air and the manual air box. It looks like the recirc actuator is the same for both styles...

Re: 20 years later an A/C component fails

Three jaw pullers that push on the shaft will destroy the compressor. You can only push on the aluminum piece that the snap ring attaches to. You might a well just purchase a complete compressor with...

Re: 2002 Saturn L200

You are correct on your assumptions about hvac operation. The recerc actuator is either on or off. The mode actuator is multi position and is most likely the failure point. I work on a fleet of...

Re: 2002 L200 Engine Cradle Question

Re: 2002 L200 Engine Cradle Question

There is one bracket for the manual transmission shifter on the subframe. The Saabs have a cable shifter and the L series have a rod shifter. You can cut the bracket off your manual frame and weld it...
