Re: 2004 Vue Airbag light on constantly!!

Wow, wasn't aware of this service bulletin. I did replace the clockspring so that shouldn't be the issue. I went out and looked at the old one I took out which I had kept and didn't see any wires...

Re: 2004 Vue Airbag light on constantly!!

Thank you sir!! I will try shaking this problem out tomorrow and this information will be very helpful. It is puzzling to me that the SRS module would fail intermittently. I will let you know how...

2004 Vue Airbag light on constantly!!

Back in the summer I started getting an intermittent airbag light on. It didn't seem to be linked to any specific condition. It just would come on and then for no apparent reason it would go back...

Re: Hi all.. 04 Vue (remote keyles entry question)

Just use the keyless entry part of the unit. $28 for the unit with two fobs is pretty cheap. Only three wires need to be attached. One for continuous power, one for lock, and one for unlock. Pretty...

Re: Hi all.. 04 Vue (remote keyles entry question)

If you are just looking for keyless entry unit why not look for one on Ebay or Amazon. they are very easy to install and will work great on the Vue if you put in the passlock override module or just...

Re: Oil leak passenger side 4 cyllinder

FYI you will also have to pull the valve cover so might as well replace the valve cover gaskets too. Might consider a new water pump. Timing chain kits are available on Ebay and Amazon that include...

Re: 2003 Saturn Vue CVT Transmission swap

If you private message me and send me an email address I would be happy to send it to you. It is a rather large PDF file.

Re: 2003 Saturn Vue CVT Transmission swap

Do you have a copy of the VTI to AF23 swap manual that Jimmy Ford put together? I have it if you are interested.

Re: 2003 Saturn Vue CVT Transmission swap

Which swap are you going to do?

VTI to 5 Speed Manual
VTI to AF23
VTI to the Malibu which I believe is a 4T45E

Re: 2003 Saturn Vue CVT Transmission swap

I agree with waiter21 both the 5 speed manual and AF23 Aisin automatic are better options. PM me your email addy if you want a look at the manual for the AF23 swap. It is pretty thorough and easy to...

Re: 2003 Saturn Vue CVT Transmission swap

I think your best bet is to go with a proven swap combination. I know for a fact that the AF23 is a proven swap and is a reliable one. It is also well documented and a manual even exists for the...

Re: cracked intake manifold

I made a big mistake recently making this offer but I must be a masochist. I am not sure where you live but the local LKQ Pick and Pay here in Dayton Ohio has at least one L81 with a manifold sitting...

Re: Best wheel bearing brand?

I get mine on Amazon from Detroit Axle. I have used them to replace hubs on three Vues in the last year and all are working fine with up to 20K miles on them. I am not sure whose bearings are in the...

Too bad I picked one up today and was just about to send you a PM to get your address. I was going to send it gratis but I guess not.

Re: Speaker Upgrades

I think that little map pocket is the same on all 2002 to 2007 Vues. Next time I am at the pull and pay I will get one and mail it to you.

Re: Speaker Upgrades

Your info doesn't give your location but most major metropolitan areas have pull and pay junkyards.

Re: DRL dashboard light came back to life

Wait, are you saying just the dash light was out and came back to life or your DRL was out entirely. That was the case with my sons Vue. No DRL one day and a few days later they came back on.

Re: DRL dashboard light came back to life

My sons 2005 Vue did the same thing. We investigated and it turns out there was a short in the wire to the resistor which is located on the drivers side in front of the wheel well. The wire was...

Re: That carrier bearing...

I see you live in Northern VA. Take the drive shaft out and throw it away. It's going to fail anyway. Remove the rest of the rear drive train at you convenience.

UPDATE: Transmission Swap No Start

I replaced to upstream O2 sensor today and have run the car at varying RPM's for about 1/2 hour. It appears to be running correctly and so far no codes. I discovered the rear drivers side hub is shot...

Re: Tricks for exhaust manifold bolts

I feel your pain!! Irwin makes a bolt/nut extractor socket set that you can pick up at a Lowes store. I hope there is enough clearance to get one on the nut. Other than that an air chisel to break...

Re: Tricks for exhaust manifold bolts

If you are pulling the engine out anyway you might think about just cutting the nuts and studs off at the flange. When you get the engine removed, and the manifold removed from the engine, just cut...

Re: Transmission Swap No Start

Wow, how did I not know this. I thought Saturn did away with the VTI back in 2004. I didn't realize the AWD version still used it. Ironically the AWD is the absolute worst application of the poorly...
