Re: 2005 Slave Cylinder is Toast

Just wanted to update this thread a little since most of us post our problems here but rarely follow-up. A couple of days after replacing the master cylinder, I regained full clutch pressure. I've...

Re: 2005 Slave Cylinder is Toast

Just a bit of an update: I ordered a master cylinder from O'Reilly Auto Parts (PowerTorque Clutch Master Cylinder: CM1429) and installed it the other day. Bled the system and viola, full clutch...

Re: 2005 Slave Cylinder is Toast

I did pump the clutch from the beginning, but only a few times....not nearly as much as I just did today. I really do appreciate your replies and insight. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that...

Re: 2005 Slave Cylinder is Toast

Okay....need a little more help on this issue now. Just for $h*ts and giggles, I started her up and sat there pumping the clutch pedal like a madman. After about 30 to 45 seconds of pumping the...

Re: 2005 Slave Cylinder is Toast

I've had two other vehicles in my lifetime that were standards and I drove them well beyond 100K miles with no problems (a Mazda B2000 and a Chevy S-10), so I'm going to rule out my driving habits,...

Re: 2005 Slave Cylinder is Toast

Wow, nice pictorial! Unfortunately, I don't have the means to drop the tranny and engine.

I've checked around the clutch rod on the inside, it's bone dry. I'm not sure what it means, but when the...

Re: 2005 Slave Cylinder is Toast

I'm pretty sure it's the slave cylinder leaking internally (hence no external leak). The first symptom was the clutch not engaging/disengaging until it was damn near on the floor. I drove it like...

Re: 2005 Slave Cylinder is Toast

The master cylinder is totally full, and there are no visible leaks anywhere, to include the inside of the vehicle.

2005 Slave Cylinder is Toast

Hello all,

My clutch pedal goes straight to the floor with zero resistance and I cannot get her into gear at all. I'm guessing the slave cylinder gave up. I'm frustrated that this has happened...

Re: 2003 Saturn VUE - 5 speed - What is a fair price?

I must have missed the part where you told everyone what the "new vehicle" is. Inquiring minds want to know.

Re: Reliability Concerns - fact or fiction

I've had a few minor issues with my two. Nothing that ever left me stranded and nothing that cost over $250, so I'm pleased. Having said that, if I were in the market for another compact SUV, I'd...

Re: Hazard Switch Replacement

Update (if anyone cares): Replaced flasher switch....did not fix the problem. Took vehicle to repair shop, troubleshot to faulty wire in the actual turn signal stalk on the steering column. Awaiting...

Re: Automotive News: European Strategy Seemed Sound

I'm certainly not a "Saturn cheerleader", your I-told-you-so's were just getting tiresome. My 2003 Vue is in the shop as I type for the 2nd time in two weeks (oil pressure switch last week and turn...

Re: Automotive News: European Strategy Seemed Sound

Umm....I think we get it: You told us so. I think this is the third separate thread where you say basically the exact same thing...."I was right", "I predicted this", blah blah blah. :ugh:

Re: Hazard Switch Replacement

I'm having the EXACT same problem on my 2003 Vue right now (problem just started yesterday). Please let us know if replacing the flasher fixes the problem.

Re: More noobie questions...

1. I don't notice any bouncing, but the rpms don't immediately come down when I take my foot off of the accellerator....I don't think you have anything to worry about.

2. There's no way I'd...

Oil Pressure Switch

The oil pressure switch is leaking on my '03 Vue (3.0 Liter). It looks like a cake job and the part is cheap (around $15). I was wondering if anyone has replaced one, and if so, anyhting to look out...

Re: Thinking about getting a Vue

Our '03 and '05 have been solid, no issues. Avoid VTi equipped Vues, other than that, you should be good.

Re: Transmission Hesitation

Simple. If you have a 4 banger you've got the VTI, if you've got a V6 you've got the Aisin 5 speed.

Re: November 2008 VUE sales down 19.3%

Wow, they sold 96 Relays? They must have been selling them for 10 bucks a pop.

Re: thinking of buying this 03 vue V6 AWD

You are correct....no V6 models were ever equipped with the VTi. I have an '03 with the Opel V6 and it's been rock solid so far (knock on wood). Go for it.

Re: Vue SCCA class

I've done several track days with my ZX6R at that track (pics in gallery), it's a very nice track....and technical as well.
