Re: P0137 - Pending

I failed the first time through due to the misfires.

I ran it around for a while the other day and then took it in to get tested. It passed no problem and it is still running great.

Thanks...

Re: P0137 - Pending

I've failed the test once before and have one more strike but with the fishing trip this Sunday, I wanna pass the next time through.

I got the code via a OBD2 scanner. Car ran...

Re: P0137 - Pending

I'd really appreciate someone's thoughts on this. I hate to drop $70 on a part that does not need replacing and I've gotta get this bugger past emission testing.

Thanks again,
Mike

Re: Throttle Body Cleaning Other Options

The throttle body itself or the entire intake manifold?

The TB is easy. A couple bolts and some connectors. Richpin has a very detailed vid on you tube. If the bolts are giving you trouble get...

Re: P0137 - Pending

Did some reading on other posts. I did the dollar bill at the tail pipe test and I have good flow so I do not think the cat is plugged.

Not sure how to check for an exhaust leak near the rear...

Hi all,

As always you guys kick a**. This forum is the main reason my SL1 is still running and I still own it. The plethora of info on these boards makes owning and maintaining a Saturn easy...

Re: Wolfman's reverse slam fix with PICTURES!

I have a '99 SL1 with 213K miles (still getting 35 mpgs! :D). I have this same problem and rough shifting in general. I've had the car for +/- 60K and have never changed the trans fluid based on...

Re: Bosch Platnum Plugs No good?

At $8.50 an hour that's exactly who operates them these days. I'm just really careful about mic-ing them after they've been cut. Guy did a good job on the rotors, +/- .005 mm.

It was more...

Re: Bosch Platnum Plugs No good?

I just think most American's are dumb and believe marketing campaigns, and never seek out opposition opinions or data to support ad campaign claims. Similar to the fuel additives, oil additives, and...

Re: Bosch Platnum Plugs No good?

Thanks to the several responses. Found them at O'Reilly's/Murrays for $2.50. Called to check to make sure they had them in stock. They told me yeah, we'll set them aside for you. Showed up an...

Re: Tie Rod Snapped???

Hard to visualize based on your description. The bolt is the top and it attaches to the knuckle. Richpin just posted a fresh vid on outter tie rod ends. Check it out, that'll at least give you an...

Re: Front Caliper sleeves

I just pulled the pins on my front discs and out popped the bushing with the pin (the lil' rubber head on the outside of the bushing cracked). I just looked them up online and they want $15 bucks...

Re: Drums...can't get them off!!!

Fruggin' bad engineering on the placement of the adjuster star. The 3 lb sledge and 3 2X4X6s ended up getting them off. My forearm and ears will not forget this anytime soon.

"Preventative...

Re: squealing at start up -- bad tensioner?

I just priced a pulley and belt. $13 for the belt (serp, AC, pwr steering) and like $25 for the pulley.

I too have a nasty squeal and after reading other threads on the subject, a easy test is to...

Re: Drums...can't get them off!!!

Ahh. No, the P brake is not engaged. At first it was, but I figured that one out after a couple whacks with the 3lb.

If I have no choice but to replace all parts, I will do just that. ...

Re: Bosch Platnum Plugs No good?

The "platinum plug sucks" argument is totally new to me so please bear with my ignorance. I too recently put in a set of platinum plugs. Less than 2000 miles ago. Prior to install I was having...

Re: Self-adjusting rear-brakes questions

Is that a specialty tool? If so would it be available at Auto-Zone? I'm having the same problem getting the drums off my 99 SL1.

Re: Outter Tie Rod ends - cannot break loose

I paid $10 for new rod ends. However, to replace the rod itself I would need my question answered Re: how to remove the entire assembly. So, if you can help me with that I would be appreciated.
