Re: Not another Cruise Control thread...

I guess I'm concerned because of the # of times and different approaches taken to fixing the Cruise and it's true I don't know much about what's behind the dash.

What specifically I am confused...

Not another Cruise Control thread...

I'm a huge user of cruise control. HUGE. Mainly because of the excellent implementation and ease of use its implementation provides from my 05's steering wheel.

I've had many problems with it...

Re: Saturn Ion: What could have been

I love my black 2005 Ion3... Every time I get out of the car, while walking to the front door of my house and remote locking it, I turn around and get emotional... It's a gorgeous looking car from...

Brake Light Turns On By Itself

2005 Ion3 Auto

(In Short):
- Cruise Control doesn't work (sometimes doesn't set, sometimes disengages on its own)
- brakes (or at least brake light) goes on on its own intermittently. Does not...

Re: ION Good? Bad?

Mostly Good.

I purchased this after a couple of years of avoiding them as in my 'circles' they had certain negative connotations.

After taking a good look at this car's features and comparing...

Re: Saturn. Body by Tupperware

I consider this a compliment. Isn't 'Tupperware' a premium brand of plastic products? That would make the Ion made of premium materials ;).

Seriously, though. There are some small...

Re: Changes for 2009

This makes it sound like in the 'States you can buy the car and drive it off the lot the same day, and that they are losing revenue as a result of forcing people to wait for a day while the part...

Re: Changes for 2009

Blast, I hadn't noticed that. I too prefer a black interior. I looked at the Astra 5-Door the other day and even preferred its black interior to that of the silver interior on the 3-door XR. It...

Re: Changes for 2009

Agreed; It doesn't sound that bad if you are in the U.S. and paying U.S. prices -- I'd do it without issue. Unfortunately in Canada, we pay a great deal more for the same car and for options. Our...

Re: Changes for 2009

Nice changes here. Looking forward to the 6-speed auto, bluetooth. I'd be interested to see what small refinements they've made as well.

Any ideas as to when the 2009 model will likely be...

Re: Ion Turns Off While Driving - Thoughts?

I had considered this too but I am not sure how:
- My key ring is composed of only a single car key and the factory remote (no other keys, no trinkets) -- has been since purchase.
- I've driven for...

One clarification, though I don't think it changes your answer: The locks unlocked without a shift change (It was in drive during the failure and at the time the...

Ion Turns Off While Driving - Thoughts?

Hello,

I'm driving an automatic 2005 Ion w/92000 km (58,000 miles).

I was driving on the highway the other day going over 110 km/h (68 mph) and I experienced a shutdown of all power, with these...

Thanks for all of your help. I've moved my appointment to next week, though: Any other thoughts on what to check and anybody else have anything similar? To at least:
- the springy noise (like...

Re: Different Gas Grades: Good For Your Ion?

Understood, but running 'fine' and running 'well', ie. more smoothly, more pickup, etc. is very different. Some people say they don't feel a difference but I definetly do and while I may be...

Re: Different Gas Grades: Good For Your Ion?

 indeed! I kind of understand: But if I'm losing power using the higher octane gas, then why does my car seem to run more smoothly with it? (and I refuse to believe its entirely...

Re: Different Gas Grades: Good For Your Ion?

I had wondered about the 'addiction' factor as well... is this really possible? And if so, what are the repercussions of ignoring the engine's addiction and using only regular?

Second: I seem to love pain: I'm the kind of customer who stays with a company until I've done everything I can to...

Recommendations to My Many Ion Issues

Ok -- Love my 2005 Ion3. Love it.
Honestly, it's too bad they're not making more 'cause the sucker that I am I'd still buy another in a few years if they had them.
Also, this is my 5th car,...
