Re: Antifreeze is leaking!!! Help

I'm not familiar with this coupler but it isn't rocket science, just puzzling. While randomly viewing youtube videos, I came across another GM model about damaged heater hose couplers. I wasn't...

Re: Antifreeze is leaking!!! Help

Back in '08 a member bought a bag of 100 O-rings and asked if anyone needed some. I asked and received a set. With eight eyes (two real ones, three pairs of low/medium/high varifocal eyeglasses) I...

Re: Stalling at start up when engine is hot

Automatic fuel pump operation to prime the fuel rail runs for two seconds whether the engine is started or not.

A better assessment...

Re: Antifreeze is leaking!!! Help

Search past threads from members taking pics of their heater cores for replacement. The most likely place for coolant leaks are the two heater hoses using plastic quick connects like air tools with...

Re: 98 SL2 fan not working

The fan turning on with the coolant sensor disconnected means the cooling fan circuitry is working. Other testing isn't necessary. What was tested when disconnecting the sensor; pcm, wiring from pcm...

Re: Antifreeze is leaking!!! Help

The upper radiator hose is a short bendy one from the left/passenger side connecting to an extension tube from the t-stat under the intake manifold center. The lower hose is on the drivers side...

Re: 98 SL2 fan not working

There are several ways to test the fan cooling circuit. If it's applicable, disconnect the coolant sensor then turn on ignition. This may turn on the fan or after starting the engine. If the fan...

Re: P0706 Code on '97 SW2

Mystery problems self healing may be the most difficult to repair but you do have an error code. Is this code repeating or are there other codes? A repeating code is one thing, other codes coming...

Der_Idiot, orange wire from ignition switch (Run position) feeds power to several circuits including hvac (post #13). Do you have 12v on the orange wire at ignition on time?

Re: Revs high

The only way an egr valve can increase rpm would be a gasket leak allowing fresh air into the intake port under the egr valve. Depending on where gasket damage occurred may also show exhaust gases to...

Re: Saturn Wont Start

^ I've never had issues with battery cables connecting to replacement batteries in my L300. If I'm not mistaken, GM uses side terminal cables with metal points around the inside of connectors so they...

Re: The DREADED P0455

When done correctly, a diy repair with minimal costs is one way to go but there are caveats. I see no reason against any form of repairs as long as it corrects the problem and doesn't create a new...

Re: 2002 SL2 no dash lights / won’t start

I think you're confusing security with a power problem. No lights, no starting points to a power problem. A new battery is useless if it isn't connected electrically. Did you check for loose battery...

Re: The DREADED P0455

You can test the purge solenoid by applying 12v to it. Blow thru it first then apply 12v to see any change in valve operation. You'll test for solenoid operation and valve opening/closing. You can...

Re: Top Oil Filler Cap P/N

I went out and removed my oil cap. There's an O-ring on it. If you can't wait for a replacement, maybe Home Depot/Lowes/NAPA/whatever store stocking large diameter O-rings may be suitable.
