Re: factory amp location?

Thirded. It's worse in cold weather, which suggests a loose connector (to me).

Re: Opinions on Saturn Outlook

It's a well known issue with a whole group of GM engines of this era; In layman's terms, the timing chain stretches under load, eventually far enough that the engine computer can't compensate....

Re: Opinions on Saturn Outlook

I love my '07 Outlook, but I've been very lucky. I don't have a sunroof or the evil ignition switch, and I've already had my timing chain and steering replaced under warranty (thank goodness!)

At...

Re: special policy coveage for p/s pump&steering gear houseing

These texts are hilarious!

I'm a strong guy, and I couldn't *budge* the steering wheel when my P/S pump was going, unless I revved the engine (which is fun in a parking lot, let me tell you!).

Re: special policy on water pumps

Oh I just love that piece of verbage. Why was the engine coolant level low? BECAUSE THE SHAFT SEAL LEAKS.

(I religiously monitor fluid levels. Still had to get my pump replaced.)

Re: 2010 Outlook steering problems

Sounds familiar, but on my 2007. My dealer replaced my P/S pump; that didn't resolve the issue, and they also ended up replacing the steering rack. Fortunately this was just before my warranty...

Re: Rear Blower & Airbag Light Issues

This exact failure happened to me in 2010. The service guy replaced the power steering pump, took it for a drive, noticed there were still problems, and then replaced both the gear and the rack. This...

Haha! yes, the forums are pretty dead since the Outlook was discontinued...

The Saturn Outlook, the GMC Acadia, the Buick Enclave, and (now) the Chevy Traverse are all the same vehicle - based...

Re: primary Battery location !?

Since it hasn't been stated explicitly here:

The battery isn't under the front passenger seat. It's behind it, and in front of the second row seats. There's an (easily removed) panel on the floor...

Re: 2007 Outlook XE Hesitation

I didn't get to answer in time, but over the summer we had an engine hesitation problem that turned into major vibration and loss of power. Limped into a random dealer (we were on vacation, towing...

Re: Saturn Outlook = GMC Acadia Redesign

This should come as a surprise to no one - they're both Lambdas, after all.

Re: Any merit in reflashing ECM/TCM to latest rev?

I may be mis-remembering, but doesn't the Traverse have a different *engine*, the new direct-port one?

Re: looking for roof cross rails and hitch

These are available from any GM dealer - they're the same part as for the GM Acadia, IIRC. You can also get them from saturnparts.com.

Do you have the factory-installed hitch receiver...

Re: Stabilitrack and Traction Control Problems

I've had my timing chain replaced with the new, heavier ones, and now I'm seeing this problem too, both the "stall at stops" and the irregular stabilitrak warning.

It's something else.

Re: How do I physically disconnect the OnStar system?

There's also at least one "connect your iPod / iPhone to your car" device that replaces the OnStar module on the market. These are the ones that make a bluetooth connection to your device, and let...

Re: Manual Transmission shift button - no shift

The button sets the maximum gear - the auto transmission will still shift when it wants to within the reduced range.

In other words, you can't force it to shift up - only to shift down.

Re: help please

This is all normal, and is part of standard battery maintenance in a car. When you first start the car the battery is drained (not all the way!) by the starting process. The charger needs to supply a...

I'm about to take my truck in for the recall (finally!). Where is this 60 amp fuse - in the main fuse box, or somewhere in the wiring harness? (I seem to remember adding a fuse being the fix back...

Re: Battery dead on '09 outlook w/5,000 miles!! Tsb fix!!

I managed to drain the battery in my Outlook four times in 2 years. Once was camping - we turned off the liftgate, but forgot the interior lighting, so every time someone opened the trunk the lights...
