Re: 1997 SW2 Crank but no start, stuck on wiring.

While you have a legitimate concern about premature failure of your last ignition control module, replacing it and wondering if this second(?) icm will fail, things have to be taken in perspective....

Re: Don't you hate aluminum wheels?

Aluminum is aluminum in bare form. If you're aware of bare aluminum storm doors (unpainted) or other uses for untreated aluminum, normal weathering from oxidation turns it dark from finished...

Re: Don't you hate aluminum wheels?

^ Did you read post#3? I wasn't kidding about aluminum wheels. I like them but learned over the years about the good and bad issues. You can search for more info if you don't believe me.

Re: Ignore the rear O2 = P0141 ??

I'd plan on six months before emissions inspection if the check engine light turns on for any reason to address it before you jump thru hoops in repairs and various suggestions from members here. Or...

Re: Switching BCM

No one said you can't find an indie to replace a faulty bcm with a used one. But beware of anyone claiming repair shops, indies and so called electronics specialists are able to adjust odometer...

Re: 2007 Ion Alarm/horn starts blowing by itself

GM service manuals state new body control modules are programmed. This assumes GM using their scantool in a dealer setting. GM is in the best position as they have support far superior to anyone...

Re: 2007 Ion Alarm/horn starts blowing by itself

Try searching around online. Rockauto, ebay, etc. Not every GM dealer stocks them but can buy them from other dealers if necessary and worth a call if you can't find them. Repair shops have their...

Re: 2005 Saturn Vue miss

Very thorough diagnosing and troubleshooting. If the ignition coil pack was replaced and cylinder#4 still isn't firing, this leaves the ignition control module (ICM). The icm is in the finned...

Re: 2007 Ion Alarm/horn starts blowing by itself

The body control module runs everything the engine computer doesn't. The abs and airbags have their own electronic control modules. If the possessed doors isn't a flaky door lock/unlock switch making...

Re: 2007 Ion Alarm/horn starts blowing by itself

Technically, Saturn's alarm system monitors door switches, the ones that turn on the dome light. If the trunk has an indicator light to inform you of the trunk left open, this is another alarm...

Re: 2009 vue

Back in the day, a set of GM manuals for my '03 L300 cost $145. Without service manuals, hearsay, rumors, misinformation and other adjectives gets in the way of sharing facts from fiction. If you...

Re: 2004 3.5L using oil, do I have low compression??

Whether or not anyone can determine oil consumption based on stft/ltft is debatable. One site describing how stft/ltft may help; ...

Re: Lw300 NIGHTMARE PLEASE HELP (OVERHEATING)

Teejoka813, are there any histories of maintenance done to this car? At 192k miles, the first major milestone at 100k miles; replacing the timing belt, water pump, idler pulleys and serpentine...

Re: Battery Dead. Jumped car and it died while driving

Most electrical discussions relate to electrical flow from positive to negative. Current flow, amperage, is from negative to positive. Anyone willing to argue the point will have to explain why the...

Re: Possible starter issues on 07 3.5L AWD V6

Starters are always located under the engine on one side or the other. If you examine images of starters and the three terminals on the starter solenoid, you'll see a typical configuration; the inner...

Re: 1997 SW2 Crank but no start, stuck on wiring.

Even if one cylinder fails to run, the other three cylinders will run. A lumpy idle and very rough engine will still run with one cylinder down.

This intermittent problem seems to be related to...

Re: Radiator recommendation

If your replacement radiator failed in 50k miles, was it due to a faulty radiator, road rash damaging it, xmission fitting damage or worn/damaged/missing radiator rubber mounts?
I dont recall...

Re: 1998 Saturn SL2 won't start when parked on driveway incline

The only reason I stress fuel pressure testing is the possibility of the no start situation after the repair shop couldn't find anything wrong with several successful startups. It can be frustrating...

Re: Battery Dead. Jumped car and it died while driving

From descriptions, your wiring seems correct. The small purple wire occupies the small terminal on the starter solenoid, the two larger gauge wires on the outside starter terminal. The large gauge...

Re: Don't you hate aluminum wheels?

Nah, I 'adore' aluminum rims for their distinct advantages. When clear coat or paint peels/chips, corrosion begins immediately and spreads under the clear/paint area until the rim looks horrible....

Re: Fog lights on second gen Saturn's..not a popular option???

Your explanation pretty much says it all. If real fog conditions occurs, anyone foolish enough to drive faster than the extremely limited sight range in fog conditions are Darwin award candidates....

Re: 1998 Saturn SL2 won't start when parked on driveway incline

At this point with the shop able to restart the car several times over the course of three days, seems to eliminate whatever was problematic. I believe they did the best they can and allowing them...

Re: Fog lights on second gen Saturn's..not a popular option???

I have them for that oh-so-darling look on my L300. They suck, period. When they're barely two feet off the ground (55 watts each), all they do is brighten up the ground about three feet in front of...
