We’re there any Series 2 (2003 onwards) LW200 with manual transmission?

I remember in 2003 or 2004 sitting in a LW200 with the new facelift at the Toronto car show that had a five speed manual. I recall thinking that S-class compacts aside, no one in 21st century North...

Re: Saturn in Kaohsiung

I'm in Hong Kong now. If I see a RHD Saturn here I'll be shocked.

Saturn in Kaohsiung

So, I'm visiting a Carrefour shop here in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and look! It's my old S series.

Of course, since it's Taiwan there's zero rust or corrosion to body or paint.

My 2000 Saturn SL2 automatic (345,000 kms) will go to http://www.kidney.ca/kidneycar next week and I'll get a $300 donation receipt for tax filing.

The Saturn has been a great car for both work...

Re: Power loss, shudder, help needed

Change of plan. I'm not replacing the fuel pump.

Instead, my Mother in Law is giving me her 2000 VW Passat with under 100,000km (meticulously maintained at dealer), with some minor rust. I'll...

Replaced valve body and head gasket about 30,000 km ago, plus chain and tensioner. Don't know about torquing nut.

Re: Power loss, shudder, help needed

O2 sensor pulled and driven noisily around local streets. Still losing power, you can hear a splutter sound when the hood is open. Mechanic says cat is fine. O2 sensor was chalky white,...

Re: Power loss, shudder, help needed

Thanks AN, I'll chek your listed items. To clarify, my mech is trying to dissuade me from wasting money - he's on my side.

I've had the misfire for three weeks, so I might have filled the cat...

Re: Power loss, shudder, help needed

Drove home family today through city. Car seems to run fine under 50 kph, with lots of traffic light stops.

Yep, it was two fouled plugs. Codes read a misfire in two plugs. Changed all four plugs plus wires, with oil change. Car now runs great.

Re: Improved oil consumption

At 300,000 kms I replaced my 2000 SL2's head gasket. At that time we also replaced timing chain, chain tensioner, AND polished all the valve seats.

The latter above reduced my oil consumption...

Re: Do you oil spray or rust protection your Saturn?

Almost 340,000 km. I do about 25,000 km a year, so I'd like it to last 2-3 more years. By that time it'll be 15 years old. Since purchased used in 2004with 167K , I've had the head gasket...
