Well, by cracky, that actually works! ;);) Who'duh thunk it?? To the best of my knowledge I've never tried that until tonight...what a surprise!

Re: K & n oil filter failure

Yup, sure do.
I noticed that from the first post.

I am well aware of rust issues that car owners in Northeastern states must deal with. My first exposure to such things occurred in 1978 during...

Re: 1992 sl2 steering issues

Welcome to SaturnFans, Jalpom!
Loose steering may be caused by a deteriorating condition with the rack and pinion gear, worn tie rod ends, badly worn rack and pinion mountings, and sometimes even...

Re: L200 Parking Brake Issues

Please let us know what you find and how you resolve the problem. Two years ago I swapped out the rear drum brakes on my LS1 for rear disc brakes and I am so glad that I did it. The improvement in...

Re: 2002 Saturn SL Spring special Fuel issues?

Welcome to SaturnFans, TheBigDozer! It's a great resource for Saturn onwers.
If indeed the car has "been sitting for 2 years" then there's a high probability that some amount of varnish build up...

Re: Loud Wheel Bearing?

One of Federal Mogul's sub-brands is National.

The price is reasonable and I can agree with not having to deal with that kind of work in the cold. But really, you're not getting old. ;) Your youth...

Re: K & n oil filter failure

FWIW, over the years my LS1 has had OEM replacement oil filters, Fram, SuperTech, WIX, AC-Delco, and K&N. I've had no problems with any of these filter brands. The brand used the longest has been...

Re: Steering wheel noise on 05 Vue

As a former auto parts counterman the only recommendation I could make is that I would place A1-Cardone last on my list of brands to choose from. I found their rebuild quality to be too inconsistent...

Re: HELP!!! L200 is out of whack.

No. They already have OBD II scanners. Such scanners cannot read codes which trigger the illumination of the wrench light which is what you have going on presently.

Hmm...I did not state that at...

Re: HELP!!! L200 is out of whack.

Probably so, but whenever you're driving the car pay attention to the way the car is shifting, or if RPM is increasing without an increase in speed.

No. The FIXD app reads OBDII trouble codes...

Re: My BCM shows faults as cabin temp. rises

Welcome to SaturnFans, Gordon-$! Greetings from SoCal.

This small item caught my attention. The odometer field is illuminated with a special LED bulb, unlike all other bulbs at the back of the...

Re: 2002 L200w manual transmission maintenance question

What is the mileage reading at the odometer? Do you not have a factory maintenance schedule for your car? It should be a separate item inside of the front or back cover of the Owner's Handbook.

Re: 2005 Saturn Vue Redline - Issues/Diagnose

That's really wild! So the difference with the springs is clearly associated with ride height (unless the gas charge in the struts was excessive pushing up on the struts' shaft, meaning perhaps...

Re: 2005 Saturn Vue Redline - Issues/Diagnose

I apologize for apparently leaving room for some confusion - I try to avoid that. There are two different part numbers for the front strut coil springs:
For the Red Line> GM/Saturn p/n 22721253 (on...

Re: 2001 L300 rear driver strut

This is what I wanted to know about in the first post I wrote on this thread. You did what one should do to install the strut at its lower mounting. I can't recall this at the moment: does the bolt...

Re: 2005 Saturn Vue Redline - Issues/Diagnose

Front strut springs for the Red Line VUE (22721253) and the non-Red Line VUE with the 3.5L (22672552) are the same from '04 to '07.

There are new springs available for the non-Red Line VUE at...

Re: 2005 Saturn Vue Redline - Issues/Diagnose

When my old Dodge 600 had its ride height raised, and it was quite noticeable, it had no effect on the centering of the steering. Regarding your VUE, was the altered height from side to side equal or...

Re: 2002 Vue 3.0L V6 AWD automatic transmission fluid

Re: 2001 L300 rear driver strut

Was there any problem with the lower mounting bolt when it was being removed?

I don't have information on the thread size and pitch for the bolt in question and wouldn't know unless I removed one...

Re: 2005 Saturn Vue Redline - Issues/Diagnose

If that is true then I see one of two possibilities:

1) there's a problem mechanically with the suspension components related to the steering wheel position, or
2) the shop may not want admit to...

Re: What color is this called and how rare is it?

^That's not a surprise. It's probably found on a sticker inside the spare tire wheel well, somewhere else in the trunk, or perhaps even the glove box. Another color name I saw that was more generic...
