Re: Steering column sound

I have used the non-spraycan version of the Super Lube grease to lubricate that boot with good results as well. Just push the boot down a little and give a liberal smear of grease on the shaft

Re: Tires: Best Replacement Tires for 2000 Saturn SL

The 'T' rated Uniroyal Tigerpaw touring at least used to be a fairly decent tire, I had a set of those on my '96 for several years and they were still pretty good when I traded to a VUE.

I've had...

Re: Vue 2002

Also get a cover soon IMO. I have seen a vehicle need a new underhood fuse box due to excess corrosion from being left uncovered all the time. Caused a bunch of intermittant electrical problems. It...

Re: Where's my gas going?

There is a TSB for 02-03 VUEs not reading full on the gauge that required two new senders to fix it.

I have had some success myself with running two taknfulls in a row of gas mixed with a 20oz....

Re: List of open and closed dealerships

Saturn of Pensacola, FL closed Oct. 31st.

Their sister store, Saturn of Mobile, AL, consolidated into the Cadillac dealership next door and apparently will operate from there until they clear out...

Re: VUE L66 Batteries and alternatives

The Optima will live a longer life under abuse, but in a normal vehicle they often live a shorter life than a good regular battery.

There should be some higher CCA group 86 batteries out there. ...

Re: 2007 Vue Refusing Fuel?

Yes, somehow the vent valve for the fuel tank is likely sticking or plugged up.

Re: vue starting trouble

Does it seem like its only running on two cylinders? I would look into the Coil and/or module again if so.

Re: 2004 Vue Honda engine vibration - shutter

If you check out some of the Honda/Acura forums, you will see that it may be wise to replace the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches to help prevent the shudder issue from returning.

Re: Oil filter housing leaking!

Perhaps you could use a chain style pair vise-grips to hold the housing while you attempt to break the cap loose?

Re: Leather Seat Install

I have a set installed in my '03 since new. They still look good overall but the driver seat bottom cushion has developed a couple small cracks.

Re: Cradle problems

Impact for sure.

GM's spray "heat valve lubricant" also can work wonders on rusted bolts.

1:18 '01 SC2
1:18 '02 VUE
1:18 '03 L300
1:24 '07 SKY
Hot Wheels '03 ION quad coupe

The SL2 and HW ION were sold only at retailers...

Re: Backup lights not working.

The reverse light switch is likely the culprit. Saw a couple of VUEs and IONs have the switch go bad in my parts days.

The switch is on the driver side end of the transaxle case, most accessible...

Re: Martha Stewart inspired Struts at Sears

FWIW, I believe a private equity firm purchased much of K-Mart upon bankruptcy, then Sears was eventually acquired and the combined operation took the Sears name for the whole operation. ;)

Re: Right hand drive Saturn

The Japan market cars had power folding mirrors on them, actuated by that switch.

Never knew they had a Homecoming SW there though.

Re: How American is your S-series

The '95 models first listed content IIRC. The S-Series was 95% Domestic content (Canadian-sourced parts included) most years except somewhere around '99 it dipped to 90% temporarly for some reason....

Re: 3.5 Coolant Confusion

I don't think the Dex-Cool will cause any harm.

Your VUE has a pressurized surge tank, an Aluminum block engine, and IIRC the 3.5L uses a "dry" lower intake gasket w/o cooling passages in it, so...

Re: Could Someone please look up the VIN History? <3 5gzcz23d74s879941

Re: 2003 Saturn VUE - 5 speed - What is a fair price?

I would still think you could get $3900 for it, especally since it sounds like it is fairly clean. The dealer would probably start out asking $5K-ish for it so that would be a fair private party...

Re: Rear Windshield...$2000?

I know the Saturn glass itself was over $800 for the part alone, but may even be discontinued through them by now.

Re: Red Radiator w/ Flames light on dashboard...what does it mean?

Low Coolant. The "flames" are supposed to be waves near the bottom of the radiator shaped symbol.
