Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

Well I can hear something different in the noise when I turn the AC on. It is not uber uber loud, but it is a definite noise, that I would sort of say sounds weezie. So I am thinking that must be the...

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

Okay, I will check that and see if I notice it. And I suppose if I do not, the fan not working would be a huge cause of overheating that makes perfect sense for it being fine under speed but hot at a...

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

I understand that you did not mean to drive. I just had something I needed to pick up and then the car was hot so trying to unplug the sensor felt like a bad idea at the time. Like how loud should...

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

So doesn't that mean then if the fan was not working it would overheat if I run my AC? Also if the AC causes the fan to run, does that mean I can run the AC rather than the heater in the summer if it...

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

Okay so I took the car for a longer run and I will say this, with the aluminum between the EGR valve, the engine has way more power and was not missing even once. Does that mean I need a new valve or...

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

Well I have looked at that stream before and it is not stable. It is more of a cascade is how I would describe it. I do not have tubing wrenches, but I can get some. I would rather buy a set of...

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

Okay so most likely the deareation line. So I see where that bolts in but how do I clear a clog out of that if it has one?

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

Okay...but stopped and moving slowly is when the car overheats. Moving faster than that it never gets hot.

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

Okay, so I pulled up another video by Richpin since he always shows up. I looked under the front of my car, and from what I can tell there is not only not a deflector on the car but there is also no...

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

By coolant radiator you mean right behind the front of the car, in front of the fan right? As in the radiator? I am not sure if those two are the same or different. If you mean what I call the...

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

Well that is good to know. Because that tells me even more that the mechanic that looked at it may well be misdiagnosing the issues.

I did take it for a short drive today, with the aluminum...

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

Currently took the egr off and stuck an aluminum can between to test if it behaves differently with it like that. I am curious. If it behaves better does that mean it is in fact the egr valve that is...

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

Will do. I was just asking to make sure that the intake couldn't have been reducing air flow or something indirectly.

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

As stated the car gets up into the red, but assuming I can get out of the stop and go traffic and moving again it will go down.

My AC has never really worked in the car, but I think I just solved...

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

The fan does turn on and function correctly from what the mechanic stated.

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

Also, in case this info helps. From what I can tell, my coolant seems pretty clean. It does not look gunky as far as I can tell.

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

I had opened the reservoir and looked inside of that little window. I can see flow but it did not appear to be a solid steady stream. My car overheated several years ago. I replaced the radiator and...

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

Does it makes sense that if these issues are being caused by a cracked head or a catalytic converter, that once the check engine light comes on it would run fine?

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

One other thing I forgot to add to my original post. The engine will stop missing as soon as the check engine light comes on.

questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

Okay so I got done taking my SC1 to a mechanic. They looked at it for about 30 minutes. They are saying they are seeing air bubbles in the coolant, so according to them I have a blown head gasket....
