Re: p0300 questions

It is a Carquest/BWD part. Lifetime warrantied, also the only one in stock at Advance Auto.

I will take a picture of the two when I get under the car, probably tomorrow evening.

Re: p0300 questions

Thank you for all your assistance OldNuc. I will verify the part number tonight and proceed from there. Hopefully it is nothing more than wiggling the CKP a bit and getting it to seat fully....

Re: p0300 questions

Billr: Right length, same bolt hole dimensions, same connector. Different color (kind of a speckled gray plastic instead of black) and the magnet stuck out a bit more at the tip.

I believe it was...

Re: p0300 questions

it wasn't snowing when I installed it, was just cold and windy. Then yesterday happened and we, as of 7AM, had 2-3" of snow on the ground.

Re: p0300 questions

Thank you OldNuc. I will see about grabbing a mirror. It felt flush, at the very least the bolt hole on the block was flush with the bolt hole on the sensor. Shouldn't tightening the bolt have...

Re: p0300 questions

Update:

Replaced CKP with Carquest/BWD from AAP. Did not fit terribly snug, drive behavior has not changed, though crank time is markedly longer before a cold start. It appears to be a defective...

Re: p0300 questions

Having looked at the Freeze Frame data values, they did appear useless, but I've been wrong before.

Thanks for the help, this place has truly been an invaluable resource in owning this car.

Re: p0300 questions

OldNuc: Thank you, I'll have to look at the crank re-learn procedure, but I can replace the CKP tomorrow morning and report back.

Bill: I have had the car for a few years, those codes came up 1...

p0300 questions

Hey all,

So, I have a 1999 Saturn SL2, 5 speed, the issue I am having began with my PCM throwing gobs of codes, some of which legitimately didn't make sense (regarding incorrect gearing for...

Re: Confused about code reader output

I replaced the plugs and wires Wednesday, I already had my head under the hood cleaning up the grounds and they were due. I Used NKG v-power plugs (BKR5E-11) and Carquest wires. there was no...

Re: Confused about code reader output

Highmile:
That is the block ground I looked at, I assumed it was the only engine block ground, is there another? I followed the negative lead from my battery to the block right under the EGR valve....

Re: Confused about code reader output

This morning I looked over the engine ground and it appears to be in good shape, the wire is stiff, but it appears to be nearly corrosion free and the connection is secure.

fdryer:
I have been able to clean and verify the integrity of the chassis connection, when I get home I will follow the other battery connection to the engine.

I will look over any/all connections I can see.

Anybody have a visual reference for where all of the body grounds are so I don't miss any?

Re: Confused about code reader output

Battery is 1 year old. connections are clean and tight. that check has been done. I will grab my multi-meter when I get home and give it a check, but it behaves as though battery is very strong.

Confused about code reader output

Hey all, 99 SL2 MT cali emissions

So, my Saturn spent 2 days acting like it had a mind of its own, occasional no-start, once all my gauges decided to give up on the highway, while the engine ran...

Re: What's it worth

Sadly for sellers, and fortunate for buyers S-series resale is typically zilch. In my area there are probably 4 S cars for sale in the $2,000 - 2,500 range that have been on CL for a good long time,...

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

Slapped on a new pair of shoes. Apparently brake shoes can last a solid 16-17 years. That's some impressive longevity.

Still got some work to do with a stuck O2 sensor and oil pressure sensor, but...

Re: Electric Conversion Saturn On Ebay

I really wouldn't be surprised to see it stay that low, it has been posted a ton of times online. I've seen it before a few months ago, and it's been on craigslist in Detroit for the last month or...

Re: Oil Pressure Sensor question

I did add the UV Dye to my oil, sorry that wasn't clear. I know I'm leaking oil, I thought it was the valve cover, it was not (or it was only part of the problem), but I'm now eyeing the highest...
