Re: Suspension Pop and Oscillating Vibration

UPDATE

My daily commute has changed drastically, and I am noticing that the "Pop" I heard previously is more of a groan, and it is definitely coming from the rear passenger side. It only happens...

Re: Ride Height?

Like I said earlier, I haven't gone and measured mine, but the ride height seems great for a sedan.Especially Compared to some of the SUV's, like the Nissan Rogue, which sits at 7.5 in.

My mom is...

Re: Whats your MPG?

That's a great point about the "whole tank" test. I have a WiFi scan tool that I have been using to track my mileage and to help me develop better High-mpg driving habits. All things considered, I am...

Re: tire pressure?

Tell me about it... Anyways, I lowered the pressure to 33 at the front and 29 at the back, and the ride feels much better. Ill see how the tires wear and adjust the pressure from there.

So I had...

Re: tire pressure?

I used to have the tires at 30 and 26, and they wore unevenly and the ride was not to my liking. I came to the 37 psi on the front because that is what felt the best. At 35 the ride was a little...

Re: tire pressure?

^^^ The reason there's fuss is because the new tires are not the Q rated, but rather T rated tires, so there is a stiffer sidewall and a higher required pressure for the same load. If I had identical...

Re: tire pressure?

Thank you! I was looking for some sort of mathematical answer and this is perfect. I was using proportionality to come up with a ball park pressure estimate, but it makes more sense for the...

Re: Suspension Pop and Oscillating Vibration

When the wheel bearing on the passenger side was bad I remember expecting it to damage something else... Probably should have replaced the LCA at the same time. Thanks everyone for the help!

Re: Suspension Pop and Oscillating Vibration

When pulling out of my driveway this morning I gave it a little more gas than usual, and I noticed that the pop wasn't a pop anymore, it was more of a creak.

Re: Mystery Coolant Loss - '00 SL 2

My 00' Sl2 does the same thing, except now it has progressed to where I can actually see a small damp spot under the car in the morning. The radiators in the s-series are known to leak from the...

Re: Suspension Pop and Oscillating Vibration

I know the tires that I have on now have a max of 44 psi, which I would never go near... I like my back too much for that... I know the sticker on the inside of the door says 30 for the front and 26...

Re: Suspension Pop and Oscillating Vibration

As for the oscillating vibration, it definitely becomes more of a constant vibration at higher speeds (80+). Could this be one of the CV joints?
