Re: Michigan Astra Owner....

No nothing like that! I did the Tail of the Dragon Run with my Astra. Most fun I've ever had in a car trying to maintain the speed limit in my life. Almost like a roller coaster ride that...

I took my wife out to dinner one night and then we went to the Dealer just to "LOOK" And that is what we did. I had looked at the on-line stock and they had no car I wanted to drive, I knew that so...

Re: Help me choose a worthy Astra replacement?

I was pretty bummed when the GM announced that the sale of Saturn to Penske fell through. So much so that I decided at that point to sell my Astra and find something else.

I have a 2010 Camaro...

Re: Any XR-3 Folks still in Rochester NY?

Already have it. It is a car that I've been wanting for 35 years. A Shiny new Black 2LT/RS Camaro with V-6 and a 6 Speed Stick.

Very nice, pretty quick and I am happy!

Any XR-3 Folks still in Rochester NY?

Decided to trade my Astra sooner than later. Call it a mid-life crisis problem with me.

Anyway, I have the following items that I kept from the Astra and I am willing to sell at less...

Re: Calling all New York Astra owners...

I would have WAVED to be sure! 490 and 531 are some of my stomping grounds so maybe. My Astra will be going away here pretty soon. Time to put it away for the Winter. This year for sure.

Re: Pulling slightly right

Sounds like "TORQUE STEER". This used to be quite a handful in the earlier days of front wheel drive. My Mini Cooper S I had in England (an original from 1965) had this really bad. Over the years...

Re: IAA 2009: The new Astra premiere in Frankfurt

I really like what Opel is doing in design of their cars. If GM or Saturn is Smart, they will try to bring some more designs here to the States.

Of course I have seen what GM/Buick has done to...

Re: Cargo Mat/Liner

Mine has NO Saturn Logos at all. Must be an Opel part. It only has 1 inch round dots evenly spaced on the flat surfaces. Looks almost like a Weather Tech in style. Had mine for over a year and it...

Re: Astra Oil Filters

I Picked up the Purolator Filter at Pep Boys the other day and found it to be the "Made In Germany" style and not the "Made In Mexico" one's that I have been getting from the Dealer. I have NO idea...

Re: rotating tires ...

I'm with Gerry on this one. Do it yourself and do a full detail on the rims and tires as you swap them out. I try and make them look new or as near as I can. I scrub the wheel wells down also and...

Re: Blind Spots in two door model

I find it is a treat to back mine up....Much easier than my other rig that I've been learning to drive. 2008 Freightliner with a 53 foot trailer..... All mirror there and this HUGE blindspot! LOL!

Re: Finally saw another Astra

Scottsville Road in Rochester NY near the Airport this past Saturday. Saw a young couple in a nearly matching Black XR-3 with 17's on it. I waved, they were dumfounded, or maybe afraid of the...

Re: Crap my Astra feels even slower now

The way I feel better about Astra is when I've had a full day on the Range learning to Drive Tractor Trailer Trucks. Driving all day there only in reverse and maybe the first 3 gears, you begin to...

Re: Video: Drag race Opel Astra GTC 1.8/140PS

Shoot! I am learning to Drive Semi Trucks. Slow is SLOW! I get into my Astra at the end of a full day of driving and it feels like I'm back in an F-16 Fighter! LOL!

Re: Switched to high octane, LOST 7 mpg

In My case I am pretty sure that this Ethanol Effect is what caused mine. That and it could have been some of the LATE Winter Blended fuel that also has some other additives in NY State.

Re: Spark Plug Change for Astra

Yep. Bought it back last June (2008) and was able to keep it in the Garage most of the Winter. Our winters in New York State take a toll on the cars. I have rarely driven on rainy days also. ...

Re: Where to order Astra parts? Particularly iridium spark plugs? Thanks.

DANG...I didn't check the length either! Don't think it's a big deal though.
