Re: No A/C - power at compressor

OldNuc gave me a call later that day and we tested the resistance on the clutch. It seems it is shot. The car has 270000 miles on it so I'm not surprised.

fddryer - like you said, I don't think...

No A/C - power at compressor

The A/C in my 2000 SW2 recently went out and the low side was around 80 psi and high side was around 75. I checked for power at the compressor and I have power. The clutch spins fairly easily, but it...

I can't find this part anywhere!

It's the front trans mount on the 5 speed.

Can anyone tell me where I can buy this or even the part number? I've searched and searched and I can't find it.

Super loose steering when hitting bumps

I've got my 2003 Vue 2.2 5 sp and it's got a horrifying loose steering issue when I hit bumps.

It's got new struts, ball joints, and tie rod ends in it. I also replaced the sway bar bushings. A...

Re: 03 Vue No power to cooling fan

Thanks for the tip! I can't imagine replacing a compressor with a new one and not replacing the drier. It's like 10% of the compressor cost, so good insurance.

Re: 03 Vue No power to cooling fan

I checked with the blacklight and the compressor and oil pan lit up green. The compressor was green on the front and back of it.

It's already feeling like the A/C is losing its cooling power so...

Re: 03 Vue No power to cooling fan

Yea I saw this last summer about the scroll valve. That's why I was thinking about just replacing the compressor with an AC delco unit. They are listed on amazon for around $350.

Re: 03 Vue No power to cooling fan

I got the resistor in today and swapped it in. I had left the gauges on overnight and when I checked this morning the low side was at 90psi. I started it up and the low side went to around 20psi. ...

Re: 03 Vue No power to cooling fan

OKay.. I backtracked a little bit.
I checked the a/c pressure and it was super low. I added some ref and the fan kicked on instantly. So it appears that problem is solved with the new resistor.

Re: 03 Vue No power to cooling fan

I just cut off the corrosion and twisted the wires together with a wire nut and nothing changed. Still no power to the radiator cooling fan.

Any other ideas?

Re: Transmission issue - stuck in low gear

Did you replace the transmission temp sensor? It's right next to the filter and is the same as the ETCS.

This is standard on my to-do list with a new saturn.

Good luck!

Re: 03 Vue No power to cooling fan

Thanks!
I took the wheel off and peeled back the splash guard and it was right there.

As soon as I touched the wires they both broke off, so I'm hopeful that this is my A/C problem.

03 Vue No power to cooling fan

I noticed my A/C was not working again this summer, so I hooked up my gauges. The pressures were fine and I noticed that the cooling fan was not coming on.
I checked with the A/C on and there's no...

Re: Replace motor or another car?

Imagine that!

Let me know if you want me to do an engine swap. I don't have any second gen engines at the moment, but if you can bring me the car and engine I can hook you up.

Re: New Monroe struts ride like crap

Which monroes did you use?
I was unhappy with the cheap monroe gas-matic struts, but I am very happy with the sens-a-trac struts from monroe.

Re: Sending her to the junk yard. What parts to take before she's gone?

+1

That's all repairable with little issues as long as there is no frame damage. I'm talking about the actual frame and not the little bolt tabs that the fenders and panels bolt to.

I've done...
