Re: Wheres the transmission filter located?

You can add a drain bolt to the existing pan, too. I had planned on doing this, but found that using a bit of finesse with which bolts to remove and which to loosen, it wasn't bad. Read a few write...

Re: Service light on

Sounds like the solenioids. changing the fluid helped in my car. Plus I found that it was missing the tranny filter. Once it started slamming again, I traded the car in before things got worse. I had...

Re: Oil filters getting hard to find

I noticed last time I got a filter, that not every brand at the store had one for my car. I had 2 or 3 brands to choose from, though. I think my car may be on its last legs, though, so I don't want...

Re: l300 v6 cat issues

Don't mess with the sensors before the pre cats, they determine the fuel mixture. The ones after the cats, you can use spark plug non-foulers to get the sensors out of the exhaust stream enough to...

Re: Best shocks/struts?

Check the UK Ebay site, for parts fitting the Vectra B. Even with shipping, you might be able to get a better deal.

Re: Custom L: Turbo Exhaust

I found a lot of people cut half of the shaft out in the TB, to allow more air flow. Not as elegant as boring the TB, but it's something almost anyone can handle in the garage.

Re: 2000 L200 headlight Highbeam and Lowbeam Reversed

I thought that the bulbs and harnesses were not able to be switched, but I wasn't positive. And, when getting the car from someone else, who knows what someone else might have done. I had no idea the...

Re: Throttle Position sensor

I just had a blocked cat, and had the symptoms you described, but worse. My main cat was blocked, so I had no exhaust flow. If one of the pre cats were blocked, it wouldn't seem as noticeable. I...

Re: 2000 L200 headlight Highbeam and Lowbeam Reversed

Odd... Are the bulbs were switched in the housing, maybe? Are the bright beams the inside set of lights, or outside? High beams are supposed to be the inside set, if you have DRLs they are the high...

Re: dash lights

That's what I did in my S car, to make blue dash lights. I bought wedge base bulbs at autozone, and reused the old sockets. I ran out and looked at these ones, they're different than the S. I don't...

Re: dash lights

My dad had picked up the bulbs a long time ago for the L when the one that shines on the front of the speedo went out. They were super expensive, but he bought a full replacement set because he...

Re: Problems with my Saturn, can someone offer advice?

Any code reader for OBDII will read the emissions codes for these cars, since there is a standard way of doing them, for meeting emissions. Any non-emission related sensors are set up however the...

Re: 2001 L300 v6 - Exhaust Mesh housing?

My main cat was plugged, I gutted it, no issues. I live in a city that doesn't do emissions. If your leak is after the sensors, then you won't get a code. There's not a way for the engine to know...

Re: Synthetic or regular transmission fluid?

I replaced mine with Dexron VI, which is synthetic. Seems to be fine. I don't know that it's any better, but it's no worse.

Re: Problems with my Saturn, can someone offer advice?

You said the reduced power light came on, did the Service Engine or Check Engine light come on?

Re: car running rough, lots of codes

Ya, I figured after 200k it was just clogging up, until it got to the point where the car wouldn't run.

Re: car running rough, lots of codes

It was the main cat. I wouldn't have thought to check the cats, if you hadn't said something. I pulled the sensor after one of the pre cats, and it ran fine. I unbolted the cat at the tail, put the...

Re: car running rough, lots of codes

Speedo works. Mileage is about 200k. Car ran great, then suddenly almost no power. Codes are all I have to go off of, I can't find anything wrong.

car running rough, lots of codes

I was driving, and all of the sudden the car sounded like crap, and had very little power. I limped it to a place I could park, then the SES light came on. Towed it home, here are my codes:

Re: My New Great Sounding Exhaust (Parts List)

I've been planning on doing the Impala strut bars, but haven't gotten to it yet. Also going with JOM coilovers from the UK, but I've had a lot of stuff to spend money on. I need to dump some money...

Re: Replacing headlight assembly - 2000 LS2

I bought mine on ebay, just put them in today. I just pull the front bumper cover off, to reach that other bolt. I'll try to aim them when it starts getting dark. And hopefully stops raining.

Re: L300 - Lowering Springs

Ya, JOM coilovers from Germany are pretty cheap. There's a lot of good quality options for the Vectra B. Even with shipping from Europe, they end out a lot cheaper than products from the US. You can...
