Rec. engine mount supplier?

2007 Vue 5spd 2.2

This is a two part question: What sources have you guys had good luck with for engine mounts? I've been looking around and not really finding them all. For example, RockAuto...

Re: Removing Stock Chrome Roof Rails?

Did you ever do this?

Debating doing this on our '07 VUE. I'm not a fan of the rack at all.

It appears a non-roof rail cover plate is needed once removed?

Re: Been great but Bye Bye

Most just replace cars much more often.

I hear this: http://www.waxoyl-usa.com/Products.aspx?code=WAX-001&key=cat is amazing though.

Re: V6 Swaybar on a 4Cyl VUE?

Sorry, you said bushings, not swaybar bushings. I was assuming you meant control arms, links, etc. I've done that before on several cars and it is far more invasive than just swaybar bushings. Yes...

Re: V6 Swaybar on a 4Cyl VUE?

Poly bushings are an ordeal I don't really want to deal with at this point. I don't have room in the garage at the moment to be pressing bushings in & out. I haven't seen a kit for a VUE anyway.

V6 Swaybar on a 4Cyl VUE?

I've been searching this on and off, but unable to find an answer.

I have read the 4cyl Vue uses a 24.2mm front bar and the 3.5L uses a 26.4mm front bar (that occasionally breaks??). They have...

Re: Just acquired an '07 2.2/5spd - couple questions

I'm 90% sure the chrome on the bumpers is an adhesive trim piece that is applied over the base black areas (like the radio but less awful :) ). Hopefully I can just remove it - easier than...

Re: Just acquired an '07 2.2/5spd - couple questions

Same color as yours. To each his own. I dislike chrome of any form on the car. I'll keep an eye out for the Redline hatch cover thing though. I haven't seen any pics of the area with the trim...

Just acquired an '07 2.2/5spd - couple questions

First, this car has hideous chrome/plastic trim on the front/rear bumpers (over the black areas), on the rear hatch, and on the roof racks. How difficult is this to remove? I hear the rear hatch...

Re: Greenline Reliability Consensus?

Thanks. Hybrids in general do not scare me (this is replacing an '02 Prius). They are pretty easy to work on, and in the case of the Prius, rock solid reliable. Was just curious about the GM...

Greenline Reliability Consensus?

We are eyeing some VUEs currently. Several of them are Greenline, which I like for the larger engine & better mileage.

Is there any reason to be concerned with reliability of the Hybrid model...

Re: Rattle @ idle only under load (A/C)

Well, this problem has resurfaced. It's been just about 10K miles. Is there something that would be causing this?

I need a good reason to keep this car vs. trade it in on a 2G Prius.

Re: Rattle @ idle only under load (A/C)

For what its worth:

I did not blow it off, I ended up replacing it, right?

Also, tension was still very good - definitely on par with what I replaced it with. Something else up with it I...

Re: Rattle @ idle only under load (A/C)

For future reference, this was the tensioner. I was able to track it down by doing the following (thanks Jon):

Yank emergency brake, chock wheel (if you are smart - have someone sit in the car...

Re: Rattle @ idle only under load (A/C)

Because the A/C can load the engine at idle RPM. Nothing else can, except maybe alternator or p/s... both of which are also on the accessory drive, so again hard to distinguish between chain and...

Re: Rattle @ idle only under load (A/C)

Hmm... I'll take it to another shop for a second opinion. I'll have them check the belt tensioner. I suspected it, and this thread seems to confirm it ...

Re: Rattle @ idle only under load (A/C)

The problem is

A) According to other sources, a/c on is one of the conditions the timing chain makes noise. So on/noise off/silent doesn't isolate the compressor.

B) I just replaced the...

Re: Rattle @ idle only under load (A/C)

Belt tension is adequate.

Definitely not a worn top mount. I've broken my fair share of these, and never heard one make a noise like this. Mine is in pretty good condition.

My only concern is...

Rattle @ idle only under load (A/C)

Car is a 98 SL2 Automatic, 117k miles. Does not burn oil.

There is a weird rattle when the A/C is on, car is idling, and car is in drive w/ foot on the brake. I can't replicate the sound any...

Re: How hard is it to replace the expansion valve?

How do you keep the system clean/dry when replacing the compressor? Doesn't it open the system to outside air/moisture?

I'm about to do a compressor, probably receiver dryer, and TXV. If I could...

I put LED lights in the cluster in my 94 SW2.

Won't make that mistake again.

Can't dim them, more annoying spectrum of white light, and just generally ****ty compared to simple incandescent...

Re: Question about rims!

If you are going to buy wheels, don't blow that kind of coin on stock stuff. You can get lighter wheels that are 1.5" wider for less than that from Tire Rack. Hell, 7" wheels are really cheap.

Re: which ac compressor will work

I looked at what is on the car right now. The white text on the tag is not legible... which of these is the part number? Can you tell me if its a '94-97 or a 99+? I would like to order it off...
