Re: Current Up/Down Nature of the Site

Maybe posting in another site like FB that the forum is down would alleviate the mystery.

Re: How to stand on the roof?

I got a ladder but not comfortable stepping off it to get on the roof 8 or 9 feet off the ground. On top of the Vue it's only 2 or 3 feet higher.

How to stand on the roof?

I want to stand on my Vue's roof so I can climb onto a garage roof. Off course I don't want to step directly on the roof which would dent it, so I'm thinking of laying some boards down side to side...

Re: Oscillating thudding Right Rear

I'm sure he did it to save time off the book time called for. I'd find another shop that doesn't cut corners. Not sure how the shield is mounted but can imagine it now making noise and not shielding...

Re: Car Rattling Sound - Cold Engine - In Park (Saturn Vue 2007 3.5L V6 AWD)

Go underneath and check the metal heat shields around the exhaust system.

Re: Spark plug oiled

As long as it's not missing and throwing engine codes, don't worry about it.

Re: Any way to verify that a timing belt has been changed on the Honda V6?

I always take a dated picture after replacing the belt. Leaves no doubt.

Re: Camshaft position sensor

Unless the part is cheap and easy to get to, throwing parts at a problem is just a roll of the dice. You need to diagnose the issue first.

Re: Oil Explosion under hood with overheating

If you don't know when the water pump was changed you don't know when the timing belt was changed. And with 185,000 miles you're driving a ticking time bomb.

Re: New Vue Owner, looking for advice on struts and other stuff

Numerous posts about people using quick struts and then the ride height being off. Or maybe that was for the Redlines? I don't remember, but the springs should last a long time so no need to replace...

Re: CVT trouble leads to Vue not starting

Can you at least get the timing chain at the correct position to check compression? Or is it just as much work to replace it?

Re: Which Denso replacement alternator for 2006 3.5 Vue

I replaced mine just prior to selling so no idea how it's doing. Partsgeek is worst online parts seller there is. Good luck getting a refund in reasonable time. Hope you paid with a credit card. Any...

Re: Will Saturns be classic cars?

Try and find a Chevette or Yugo under $1000 or even under $2k if nice. 20 years ago they were $100 cars.

Are you using the cheapest made in China bearings or OEM GM?

Re: Dragging Passenger Caliper?

You could drive it again until the caliper starts sticking. Then crack open the bleeder screw and see if that frees it up. If so, it's probably the hose.

Re: Another quality new four seasons compressor :(

The Portuguese make good stuff. I'd say it's on par with Germany and most other EU countries.

Re: Another quality new four seasons compressor :(

The OEM AC Delco should be made in North America.

Re: Serpetine replacement on 08 3.5

No idea what K6 1093 is but if you ordered a belt for a 3.5L engine, it won't fit since 08 has the GM 3.6L engine.

Re: Another quality new four seasons compressor :(

AC Delco. Sure they are about twice the price of a Chinese compressor but what is your time worth to do this again?

Re: Entire vehicle (un)lock intermittent 2004 Vue

Hit the button 3 or 4 times in a row. If that works they probably need lube somewhere.
