Roof Rack

Hello all,
It has been a while. Life, college, work, it all really seems to take up free time, leaving little to myself or to put towards the car.
Looking forward to the spring and summer, I have...

Re: Engine won't crank, 2002 SL2

You can buy hard vacuum tubing and replace it, as you may find that the old tubing will break in more places as you attempt to repair it.
I bought a roll for $15 at advanced auto, took a piece in a...

Re: Diff Pin

That has happened to our 99 Sl2. It enjoyed spinning the filter off! I put a hose clamp around it and butted it up against the one lip on the pan cover.

Re: Special Forces still rebuild valve bodies?

+1 For Special Forces. He sent me the wrong one at first (he sent a core), but quickly informed me of it before I installed it. He made it 100% right and has answered numerous questions that I had...

Wrecked Saturns

Hello all,
I always like to see how our little cars hold up in accidents, and have been interested in seeing different accidents and damage ever since my rollover. These cars surprise me with how...

Re: Homecoming?

I completely agree that the new GM is not the same GM as the one that birthed our special little cars. I will most likely never buy a GM product myself, as I despise what they did to Saturn from the...

Re: Green or DexCool...

I will have to disagree with this one. When it comes to DexCool, the real question is "Do I want to regularly change and maintain my cooling system, or pour in the green stuff and forget about it?" ...

Homecoming?

Hello all,
has anybody considered going down to Spring Hill with their saturns for an impromptu homecoming? My 1995 turns 25 next summer, and I really want to take it down there, especially since it...

Manual swap it!
I did that, and it cured my auto issues.

Re: Fresh air vent repair troubles

I found a good one in my father's old parts bin from the dealership, and used some seam sealer to keep it down. I got lucky though. I suggest making one then maybe using seam sealer or any other good...

Re: Flakey oil cap

I will check my car for you, as it has been sitting and only idled for about 10 minutes in the last few days since its awaiting an alignment. It's also cold here too and I wouldn't doubt it being...

Alignment is Wednesday, drove it about 5 miles since doing the clutch. No more chatter, shifts perfectly fine, grabs right off of the bottom though. I have a new slave cylinder, will install it if I...

Re: Clutch Woes 2

I installed the clutch last night. Old pressure plate had some bent and worn springs. Throw out bearing has a ridge in it, and looks like some material was gone. Inside of the bell housing was bone...

Re: Saturnitis

I avoid the vacuum EGR sl2's like the plauge! Not a fan of them, so I try to stay 1994 with the cali emissions or 1995.

Re: Gen 1 specific parts

Good things are the electric seat belt safety clips, as in the metal clip that should be in the glove box. If the seat belts stop moving you can put the emergency clip in place and still buckle up....

Re: Seat Foam Interchangability

I know the seats from a gen 2 sedan and coupe are not the same, but it seems like the bases of the gen 1 sedan are similar to the gen 2 coupes. I think I will just go for it, after I do my clutch...
