Re: Seized alternator or much worse?

That light only comes on for under 7psi of pressure which is either from a leak somewhere, failed oil pump or 4+ quart's low on oil.

If the crankshaft isn't turning then it's being stopped long...

Pray you don't get the wrong item in the right box...RA takes no responsibility so you get to pay return shipping & restock fee out of the refunded transaction cost.

Don't bother with wholesaler...

Re: Need to tap into switched +12V

If you're adding that many accessories, instead of hacking up the stock wiring just add another fuse panel.

If the entire box needs to be on a relay (live...

Re: New spare wheel and tire

All S-Series got the T115/70R14 spare tire. Cheaper than a full size spare of varying size but more expensive than a can of fix-a-flat (don't think it existed in the 90's anyway).

A full size...

Re: Bluetooth OBD II adapter with an on/ off switch

Vacuum = negative boost. Every boost gauge I've seen goes +/- 30 psi (though vacuum is generally reported in hg).

Not sure what KPL means, though it suggest's you haven't changed the settings from...

Re: Power Steering Rattle

I had no noticeable issue's using a '93 steel pulley on a '97 pump. Stupid plastic pulley exploded when the pump ran dry and got a little bit toasty, didn't even think it might not work I just...

Re: 97 sl leaking transmission fluid

The filter is on the radiator side of the transmission, the starter on the firewall side of the engine...highly unlikely anything from the filter just dripped down and blew around to the starter.

Re: Does 2002 SL2 have traction control?

ABS is optional '91-'02; TC is included with ABS on '91-'94 automatics and all '95-'02's.

Rear disc is only available '91-'97; SOHC's ended rear disc a year or two sooner.

Re: Does 2002 SL2 have traction control?

Clarification in bold:
Rear disc stopped being included on SOHC's in '96 or '97, stopped being included on DOHC's in '98. '98-'02's with ABS got rear drums.

'91-'94 manual transmissions only got...

Re: Does 2002 SL2 have traction control?

Rear disc stopped being included on SOHC's in '96 or '97, stopped being included on DOHC's in '98. '99-'02's with ABS got rear drums.

'91-'94 manual transmissions only got ABS, no TC. Automatic...

Re: Brake lines

Technically true. However, my Silverado 2500 crossed the scale at over 14k lbs with half finished double flares instead of bubble flares with no brake line leaks. Not saying it was correct...but the...

Re: Front left tire shoulder wear

Any S-Series wheel fits any S-Series with no fitment issue's unless your individual car is broken/bent.

Alloy wheels and most of the weights:
The steel...

Volvo's have been Chinese, not Swedish, since around 2012. I've heard good things about it's parent company not messing with a good thing but still...China.

If you think ABS in the S-Series is...

An average guy can carry the DOHC around without much on earth can the motor mount be an issue if the car isn't level?

Re: Does a top-sider vacuum oil changer work on SL2 automatic?

The dipstick is solid metal and goes directly into the oil pan so sucking out the top could in theory work. The tube doesn't goto the bottom of the oil pan and the dipstick itself doesn't either so...

Re: ATF recommendation

Not sure how much "out of the box" you can go with the S-Series transmissions but I found this:
Mobil 3309/ Toyota T-IV: @40C= 33 cSt; @100C = 7.1 cSt
Aisin TIV: @40C= 34.88 cSt; @100C = 7.332 cSt...

Re: Back for more Cruise Control info...

The DOHC PCM will run the engine but won't shift the MP6 (SOHC Automatic) and CC won't turn on with a MP2 (SOHC Manual).

Even if you find a 3rd gen SOHC PCM you'll probably end up needing the Tech...

Re: hit 2 curbs, now its busted

If you're VERY lucky it only pushed in the top of the knuckle where it mounts to the strut, but the struts have proven to be the most common weak point in tire first side impacts with these.
If the...

Re: Car is stuck in first

If you can let the clutch pedal out with the engine running and it in gear without it moving it's most likely a internal transmission issue.

My newbie to manuals step-sis finished off the pressure...

Re: Throttle Problems

If you keep the vacuum harness with the TB then any '91-'98 will fit fine, but I suspect there's a good reason the big/small ports flip orientation sometime around '95-'96 so try to find a 1st gen.

Re: Throttle Problems

There should be marks on the screw from uncovered threads if someone messed with it, if so just turn it so those are covered again.

I'm not sure I'd mess with the idle stop screw unless someone...
