I understand that. It's the lack of patience when using drill bits to attempt making a hole big enough for EZ outs that never work... That's why I usually fail. I've NEVER had an EZ out work, ever.

No, I meant what I said. I replaced the INNER and OUTER tie rod ends on the drivers side only. The noise remains.


Sooo... I haven't had a chance to take another look at what's causing this...

I took it for a nice *ahem* long drive on the interstate... and barely made it home.

Coolant light started flashing and the temp gauge went through the roof, then oil light...

I used my original valve cover, cleaned cleaned and cleaned both mating surfaces, bought a brand new...

Well I went and returned the old valve cover gasket and got a new one under warranty. I also bought some Permatex Right Stuff and laid down a thin bead around the perimeter of the valve cover mating...

I'll try the rtv first. I have some "right stuff" laying around. Also, I thought aluminum and composite valve covers are not interchangeable.
