Re: comfortable lower seats.... ?

haha... well it's not TOTALLY vertical.. that's just. Impossible?

The lower adjustment knob is as far down as it can go. I also forgot to mention that these aren't the seats that came w/ the car....

Re: comfortable lower seats.... ?

Let me explain because perhaps it's just my headrest that's messed up. If I'm reclined a little bit and my head rest is to the maximum point forward, I'll be looking down my nose and cheeks just to...

Re: comfortable lower seats.... ?

I saw on a saturn sight about removing the raising seat feature from those corbeau frames and that made it a few inches lower.

I like the looks of the Corbeau A4 seat. It's slightly less wide than...

Re: comfortable lower seats.... ?

I'm about 6" but I don't really like my seat reclined very much. In the afternoon I have about an inch or two of clearance but in the morning I'm rubbing.

I was looking on the forums about finding a racing seat and discovered that corbeau actually makes a bracket for our cars and the Forza seat fits well.

This has grabbed my attention because I just...

Re: Catalytic converter hiding oil burn?

I'd like to do a complete rebuild of an engine and swap it in there. I have the money I just don't have the time. Not too long ago it was quite the opposite.

She has almost 170k miles on her. Not...

Re: Catalytic convertor hiding oil burn?

That's the thing, at a quart a tank I would expect to see a very noticeable amount of smoke coming from the exhaust. I noticed it from my old SL2 and it was only doing 1qt per 600-700 miles.

I can...

Catalytic convertor hiding oil burn?

My oil consumption has just gone through the roof lately. Causing me to switch to wal-mart dyno oil just to save some money.

It appears I lost a quart of oil in the last 250 miles. (I think that's...

Headlight won't adjust down

I have a '96 SC2 and it seems the right headlamp won't adjust down very easily. I've turned the bottom screw quite a bit but it doesn't seem to be moving down very much (if at all). The left lamp I...

Re: Can a bad battery cause this?

UPDATE:

Put the old alternator back in with a new battery. Started her up, read 14.2v for a while. Turned on all the accessories and it read about 12.6v at idle.
I drove it around the lot, came...

Re: Can a bad battery cause this?

Well her parents live 5 hours away. Her dad works in another continent.

Yeah her dad asked if I could take the alternator out and have autozone test it. I think that's a bigger task than an oil...

Re: Can a bad battery cause this?

I offered to change her oil but her mom insisted she take it to the dealership to do it. Whatever! Her parents bought the car so... it's there money. I was going to put some M1 extended performance...

Re: Can a bad battery cause this?

Yeah, she just drives short hops. She lives in the middle of town and drives to band practice, my place, and to the grocery store.... that's about it.

Re: Can a bad battery cause this?

Sorry, it had load at 14 volts. Only difference between that and later was the radio on about 3 less volts and all warmed up.

I checked the battery cables and the tension on the belt. Tension was...

Can a bad battery cause this?

My girlfriend tried to start her '05 Corolla about 10 min after we just parked and it wouldn't start or even turnover. Lights in the car came on... dash lights showed but went dim a bit.

We got a...

Re: need a short shifter boot

That's a pretty neat idea quiksc2. I was thinking about using one of those but I wasn't sure how to make it work or what it would look like.

need a short shifter boot

I have an SPS short shifter and I've had two boots eaten up by it. In time part of the boot will get stuck and pinched when shifting into 4th and sometimes other gears. The first boot I used was the...

Does anyone know what size the brake bleeders are for S-series disc brakes?

I have a '96 SC2 with disc brakes all around. I want some speed bleeders to put on when I replace my front brakes (not...

Re: Hot summer = loads of problems

My car normally runs at 3/8th when it's not in the 90's and idling.

When I first got the car I did a radiator flush a few months later (coolant was running low but no lights flashing). To my...

Re: Hot summer = loads of problems

Thanks for the reply. Oil consumption before I changed the timing set AND the valve guide seals was about 1qt per 1K miles. I noticed some smoke from the exhaust so I decided to change the valve...

Hot summer = loads of problems

My Sc2 runs pretty nice if it isn't sitting in traffic (aside from a strange lurching behavior that has reappeared). I expect the engine to get hot when I'm idling at a light and it's 97 F out. I put...

So what would you call a "good deal"?

I remember my bro bought an 86 MR2 a long time ago. He said it cornered awesome and then he learned that all the struts were blown. After replacing those it...

Re: Anything else to do?

Do you think it would be best to replace the springs and struts at the same time? Mine have 160k miles on them... in theory. I'm kind of waiting to have some sort of strut problem so I can upgrade...
