Re: Has anyone else experienced this caliper issue?

Hmm, entirely possible it's the flex hose as they're all original. I do have braided stainless flex lines that I'll be replacing them with when I replace all the hard lines. I'll have to see if...

Has anyone else experienced this caliper issue?

So I've had to replace my front calipers a couple times over the years, most recent being today. Every single time I've replaced them, I've had to vacuum bleed the driver's side caliper to get a...

Re: How long to fix serpentine belt in SL2?

Yeah, that guy is definitely trying to rob you blind. Replacing the tensioner, idler pulley and serpentine belt takes maybe 30 minutes if you're going at it quickly, at most an hour. Tensioner is...

Re: Any interest in leather steering wheels?

Pictures are available here: https://imgur.com/a/Dfn2RYX

The smooth wheel is from the 95 and the perforated is from the 99

Neither wheel has been cleaned yet, wanted to get the pics as is.

Re: Any interest in leather steering wheels?

No pics, didn't think to take any when I was there but I think I'm gonna head back and pull the wheels anyway. I'll get pics then.........and maybe keep one for myself :D

Any interest in leather steering wheels?

My local Pull-a-part has two leather steering wheels available. One from a 95 SC2 (so sad to see that in the yard) and a 99 SC2. They're both in really good shape, definitely need a cleaning, but...

Re: Spam on the tech thread

I'm glad things got fixed, I'd hate to see this forum die as it's a huge source of great information for people. However, there does need to be a bit more moderation to keep things like this from...

Re: Wanted -- Someone with tech2 in Dayton, OH area

Yeah the rust up here is a pain. I had to torch out a bolt on wheel hub from my mom's Forester over the summer. It would not come out of the knuckle. I'm not looking forward to doing the other one.

Re: Wanted -- Someone with tech2 in Dayton, OH area

Well, I'm up in Cleveland and I have a Tech 2. I'd be ok with meeting half way.

Re: Spam on the tech thread

Same here, I'd gladly volunteer my time to help keep the forum spam free. This place is a great resource for people. It would be a shame for it to die.

Re: Any interest in floor mats?

The black mats are still drying, came out pretty well for their age.

Any interest in floor mats?

I have one beige (with an extra passenger mat) and one black/dark gray set of front floor mats. They're both in pretty decent shape, the usual worm/missing grip teeth and I also need to give the...

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

I drove about 40 minutes each direction during rush hour traffic to pickup a set of OEM Saturn front all weather floor mats from a guy with a 99SL2 that jumped timing. He was cool enough to just...

Re: Catalytic Converter fitment.....questions..

Nope, just the downpipe/cat. I use stainless steel fasteners for the exhaust anyway so it wasn't an issue that they weren't included.

Re: Catalytic Converter fitment.....questions..

The 99 DOHCs are a little weird. My 99 SL2 was built in June of 1999 and the aftermarket Magnaflow cat/downpipe didn't fit right. However, the Bosal I have on there now fits great. My SL2 is a...

Should be able to find them at a junkyard, however I have a couple spares. Cost of shipping and they're yours.

Re: Thermal Exhaust

I second that, I'm very curious about the sound of it. The Walker stuff is decent, but it just doesn't last in the salt belt. I'd like to go with a Thermal R&D or OBX, but I don't want my Saturn...

Re: Modify my 94 SL2 from broken fender to unbroken!

There's a 94HCE at LKQ in Cincinnati. It was put on the lot on 8-26-19, website photos showed it intact with no body damage. Not too bad of a drive from Columbus to Cincinnati. :)

Re: Starter Motor Brands and New vs Reman

Quick question, what's wrong with your current starter? If the fuseable link has gone bad from corrosion, that's very easily repairable. About an inch of copper wire and 10 minutes of your time. ...

FS: Set of prothane dog bone mounts for S-series

I've had these in my 99 SL2 for the past 1,000 miles or so since my subframe replacement and have gone back to the OEM rubber mounts. Just too much vibration for my liking at idle. Great mounts...
