Re: 2006 Saturn Ion Redline

Just stopping by to say hello to my Las Vegas neighbor! A 10 minute drive at typical Vegas 45mph should ready the monitors for the test, if you're still driving it at all.

If I come across anyone...

Re: 2010 Vue 3.6 V6 Head Gasket Job

Is that right? So I'm being flamed for providing details showing a person the general process involved with removing and replacing a head gasket, as well as the tools that can be expected?

I DID...

Re: 2005 Vue Intermittent solid check engine light/Sluggish

The fuel system rich and fuel system lean codes are most likely related to the 02 sensors that were faulty, which affected the amount of fuel added or removed to fix the condition.

The P2401 could...

Re: 2010 Vue 3.6 V6 Head Gasket Job

Yeah, it's the only detailed info provided in the digital Chilton manual for the 2010 Vue. I provided it more less as a guide to show the general process, what's involved, and the tools required.

Re: Won't Turn Over II

This info below comes from my service manual for your 2008 Astra. Perhaps it will be helpful in pinpointing the issue and fixing it. FYI...I don't see anything about a fusible link for the charging...

Re: Low Power and Engine rattle

I notice you're getting a disparity on cylinders 1,3 & 5, which are all on the same bank. So a common denominator that would need to be ruled out would be timing.

My guess is the timing belt may...

Re: 2010 Vue 3.6 V6 Head Gasket Job

I have a detailed guide pulled from my Chilton account for your vehicle! It details removal and installation of the cylinder heads and gasket, which will be helpful, hopefully.

Here's the link to...

Re: Won't Turn Over II

I second what AstraFasta said about it being possibly a DOA new starter. But I also think the problem could lie somewhere in the hookup of the new starter and/or alternator wiring. Would your car...

Re: 1994 SATURN R-134A HVAC SERVICE SHOP REPAIR MANUAL B4 - Question

Another thing I'd recommend, is to confirm proper oil amount in different components.

Depending on what's being replaced or serviced, you may need to add compressor oil to compensate for the...

Re: 2.2L ECOTECH Timing tensioner

Based on the premise that the AC Delco 12608580 is GM original equipment, I'd go with the AC Delco. Keep in mind that in all likelihood, you'll see a "made in China" stamp on it, but it should stand...

Re: High beam indication always on

Is the dash light the only thing on, while the headlamps are all operating correctly?

Have you pulled the connection to the turn signal switch to see if the indicator goes off?

Outside of...

Re: 2005 Vue Intermittent solid check engine light/Sluggish

I'm assuming the code is set due to a fault detected by the ECM, and somehow, the problem either resolves itself momentarily or the system thinks it did, and turns off the light and, removes the code...

Re: Code P0446 2006 Ion 2.2 Ecotech engine auto trans

I notice you replaced your gas cap. Was it replaced with an aftermarket gas cap, or did you buy an OEM cap? I've heard of many non-OEM gas caps failing to hold proper pressure, causing the CEL and...

Re: Climate control buttons not working

I finally figured out the issue. I realized the gray wire is the 12v rail, and the connector was indeed getting 12v of power to the corresponding pin. So I took apart the unit and tested out the...

Thanks for the fast response! I actually read that thread and probably all other threads related to my problem before I posted. I pulled a wiring diagram from Chilton but it's not really helpful....
