I suspect the bearings are way gone or you have a good air leak between the throttle body and the cat outlet.

Proper operation in say a Chevy manual trans that requires GM Synchromesh fluid means absolutely noting in regards to a Saturn transmission.

The blocking ring is steel with glued on friction material. Some, most, gear oils will dissolve the glue. The actual synchronizer is just hardened steel like the blocking ring.

It is the actual chemicals in the additive package that you are concerned with and that is usually proprietary info.

I would clean the connector on the IAC as they either work or they don't and yours is working intermittently. Vacuum leak most likely.

Those blind nut clips were designed to position the nut for robot assembly, they were not designed to be a disassembly holding fixture. Failure is to be expected.

You can use any UNIVERSAL ATF marked as Dexron/Mercon compatible( current Dexron-3 equivalent ) which was listed by Saturn as acceptable temporary fill. The other choice is Amsoil Torque-Drive....

Actually verify the wplug wire routing wire by wire.
Ignition wire routing as seen when looking at the engine and coils from the front, hood open, your left to right....

If you actually have a misfire then replace BOTH the plugs and wires and do not use any fine wire electrode plugs either.
