Re: Turn signal bulb not working.

Keep in mind that the OP has a 96 SC2 with the pop up headlights. The DRL's are not associated with the headlights as they are not exposed in the daytime (when the headlights are off) like the sedan...

Re: Can I swap sl rear seats into my sl2

The OP is looking to accommodate 3 kids which is entirely feasible. I do it all the time. Once the youngest is over 12 years old then it gets difficult.

Re: Wet & Melting Steering Wheel

If this is the 97 SC2 in the OP's profile it should have a perforated leather steering wheel.

You can either change your steering wheel to another leather one in good shape or downgrade to the...

Re: Attention northerners....Winter wiper blade reccomendation?

There are view points to this technique of leaving your wiper raised in the event of freezing rain and snow conditions. The other viewpoint indicates that you'll stretch the springs and lose tension...

I'm running Bosch Icon Beam on the Focus, Michelin Stealth Hybrid on the Suburban and Mastercraft (now Reflex) conventional on the SL2. I have a set of Bosch Icon Beam for the Saturn that I have not...

Re: 2002 reverse lights in an automatic

Right! I never look there for some reason. I always look to the left side bar or the signature.

Re: Gutted S Series Weight?

For the most part it's a full sedan minus the engine, transmission, seats, carpet, fenders and a few odds and ends that I've sold.

Re: Gutted S Series Weight?

My inline 16' ATV trailer pictured below would handle the weight but the bed is only 5 feet wide with rails and the SL2 is 5'6". I wonder if that spec is with or without mirrors. The trailer is...

Re: Gutted S Series Weight?

I PM'd him and his number was frame only at a little over 500lbs. We both estimated what I have to be in the 1100-1300lb range.

If anybody has scrapped a car in similar fashion and has a number...

Re: Well darn, my '99 SL2 laps oil like a BMW

I see you specified SOHC (2001 SL1).

I believe the warped covers affect only the DOHC engine and specifically 95-98 (maybe 94) where they were made of composite rather than aluminum. You can put...

Is your car running hot or something? It's designed to be most efficient at around 193 degrees Fahrenheit; that is the designed operating temperature. If you run cooler than that you'll create all...

Re: Motorweek 1993 SW2 Retro Review

I though all generations of the wagon had a fiberglass roof and tailgate. I know for sure the GEN1 does. My parents has a GEN3 and I seem to think it did too.

Nope - switched to steel for the 96...

Re: Best mods to get 150 hp for cheap

That's a blanket statement that I have to call out. The Ford Focus I picked up recently is rated at 160 HP and is tracking better mileage than my SL1 and SL2 at 31 MPG over 3K mi driven to date. My...

Re: new problem coolant 2001 SC2 Coupe

That is the bolt hole for the optional block heater. It should not have a bolt in it unless you have a block heater.

This summer my 11 month old battery had a bad cell in it which resulted in a no start situation. I thought you had already changed the battery out so I didn't mention it. They replaced it under...

Re: Saturn Sl1 struggling to move

Using the S Series automatic transmission with a bad valve body eventually causes the input shaft nut to back off. It likely needs to be replaced or at least tightened with some locktite applied. ...
