Re: How To: Clutch Hydraulic system with pics

Awesome write up! The pictures are very nice and everything is easy to see.

The only part I am confused on is the comment to ignore the master cylinder step if you have non-ABS.

I have...

Re: How hard is it to install a cluthc master/slave cylinder assembly?

PurdueGuy: Thanks for the tip. This doesn't sound that bad at all.

I don't understand the philosophy of Saturn in not making one able to remove clutch fluid (DOT3) that over the course of a...

How hard is it to install a cluthc master/slave cylinder assembly?

Through research here I found out I cannot bleed my clutch on my 2000 SL. This is one of the master and slave cylinder kits from Rock Auto for 100 bucks.

I have never installed something like...

Re: Code says "Camshaft Position Sensor" is bad

Many great responses, thanks.

I am a big dielectric grease user, and indeed the spark plug wires came with a small package of it.

I'll have to get the code cleared after I clean things up...

Re: Code says "Camshaft Position Sensor" is bad

I'll go ahead and order 2 of the coil packs from Rock Auto as they have them for 35 bucks. Saturn dealer wanted 65 bucks a piece for them. :dizzy:

The road salt here is pretty bad, so I don't...

I know the cars don't...

Re: A block heater for a 1998 Saturn SL1, anyone?

I know one thing about the block heater. That thing is freaking hot. I burnt my hand twice handling it. It heated up to near red hot in less than 10 seconds. Man that hurt! :hothead:

I'll give the...

Re: Just picked up a 2000 SL1

I have a 2000 SL myself, but with manual tranny. I did the following on mine and it has been running like a top, although with still a little bit of oil usage.

1. PCV valve changed out and bought...

Re: A block heater for a 1998 Saturn SL1, anyone?

Got the block heater and installed it a few minutes ago. Something I discovered is that you want to put it on and tighten down the bolt. Then you want to take a long screwdriver and tap upper parts...

Re: Getting great MPG in my new to me Saturn

I cannot believe that the are going to tag the Volt (if that is the car you are referring to) with a price of 35K+. Once again out of the reach of the masses.

Re: Getting great MPG in my new to me Saturn

Great post. I have put about 30K on my bare bones SL in the past six months (traveling to construction sites around the US), and I have no problems.

Among the quirks I have figured out from...

Re: A block heater for a 1998 Saturn SL1, anyone?

Thanks for advice, and I am very glad you mentioned the possibility of going through the block with the wrong size bolt. Now that you mention it, I am going to seek out the shortest one that will get...

Re: A block heater for a 1998 Saturn SL1, anyone?

I have the 21008372 block heater on order and installation looks very easy. The thing I am wondering about is whether the block heater comes with the bolt needed to mount it. I have an empty threaded...

1. Struts
2. Bellows
3. Bumpers

Just wondering what...
