Re: Whats your MPG?

Yes, it helps. It makes me think that I'm fine with 34 MPG on my 98' SL2 automatic. And I wasn't driving alone and I wasn't all the time under the limit, to say the least :arr:

Re: Whats your MPG?

With the price per gallon in disastrous California - yes, absolutely! I'm enjoying Pennsylvania's 2.6 at Costco and still much worried for the MPG :sneeze:

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

I have replaced small bulbs with LED. So much brighter! Couldn't replace those in the additional stop light - bulbs have melted to the plastic parts :hmpf:

Re: Whats your MPG?

Thank you! Order placed. Even with "free" prime delivery, it's cheaper with this rockauto. Will switch to them from now on :usa:

Re: Whats your MPG?

On my 98 SL2 automatic with 73k I couldn't get more than 34 MPG. How do I improve it? Both oxygen sensors and exhaust is new, as well as the air filter.

Re: 2001 SC2 Coupe- where to put in transmission fluid?

Well, it sort of worked for me. Before I had to replace the valve body ;)
But I also believe in the radiator stop-leak and engine gasket repair fluids

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

Drove my car to Washington DC and back over the weekend (500+ miles). Had two bikes in the trunk. Had to disassemble and assemble them right in front of Congress :arr:
The mpg is 34!

Just add Lucas additive. It comes with the special pipe on the bottle that fits the dipstick. And you need Lucas additive anyways, don't you? ;)

Re: Headliner removal and installation

Haha! Great idea. When I did it I bought some generic cheapest material that happened to be the perfect color match.

Re: Automatic Climate Control project

As for your concerns regarding the potentiometer, I would suggest drop it at all. Neither rotational nor sliders - they do not work normally. Go with encoder. For example:

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

I have changed the spark plugs! Used the antiseizure lubricant on them. The color of the old plugs seems to be okay, but why the oil on the thread? Is it the notorious valve gasket leaking?

Re: Automatic Climate Control project

Seems to be doable. The only concern is how reliable the mechanical part is gonna be. I would add an option to turn off the climate control and have an old-fashion slider hidden somewhere.
Where do...

Re: The exhaust pipe issues

Okay, got the car back from the muffler shop. They cut the flange from the old front pipe and welded it to the new part. To my disappointment, it didn't become dramatically less noisy in the car...
