Re: Extinct Car Day Lawn Show - Oct. 20 2018

Looks like a good time. Hope I can make it this coming year. I just moved to Maine so I'm not too far away anymore... Need to repaint my car first, though, it looks pretty bad with rubberized coating...

I don't have a good story to go with it other than I found it on Craigslist.

Re: Water leak

Two most likely culprits:

1) the smile joint between the firewall and the spaceframe

2) your A/C drain is clogged and the condensation is draining into the car

To fix option 1, it is a pain...

Re: Junkyard

Only good yard for Saturns I know east of Harrisburg is Harry's You Pull It. Got plenty of good parts from there but the junkyards seem to be drying up lately... However, you can check the inventory...

Re: SUNROOF: same part 3rd gen sedan and coupe?

I don't know if the 3rd gens are the same as the 1st, but from what I have seen the SL modules are 1/4" wider than the coupe ones. Long story short--they don't fit. You can swap parts between them...

Re: Shaggin Wagon, 98SW raised floor (rear seat delete)

If you want to run extra audio gear you need to run wiring for it directly from the battery. If you don't run new wires, you'll be sorry. And if you want a really big subwoofer / amp combo then you...

Re: Does anyone else find S- Series Seats uncomfortable?

I found my 1995 SC2 seats to be extremely uncomfortable. I'm not that big (6' 180lbs) but I hated them enough to mod my car for a seat swap. It took way too much welding work, but I have black...

Re: How bad is this rust?

Not bad at all. Your car looks much nicer than mine did. Here's my write-up about how I fixed the rust:

Re: Instrument Cluster Swap

According to the parts swap interchanges it says that they would swap, but the '95 model certainly has been found to have some special parts. I don't have a drawing for the '96. I have one for the...

Instrument Cluster Swap

I've done some looking but haven't been able to find the answer. Does anyone know if a 1996 instrument cluster will work in a 1995? I accidentally shorted out the speedo on my '95 cluster (doesn't...

Re: Coolant light on, collant tank full.

Check the ground splice pack just below the tank. The sensor grounds out here and if the ground is corroded it will think the tank is empty. Pull it apart and sand it up well before putting it back...

Re: AC issue - need advice please

Yes, I am aware of this. I am saying that the low pressure side is much higher than would be expected with only a 12oz charge. I would think that the low pressure side should be less than 25psi with...

Re: AC issue - need advice please

Sounds to me like the thermal expansion valve has failed closed and now you can't add any more refrigerant to the system--which is why your pressures are high but you only put one can into it. A...

Re: New speakers---do I need a new receiver too?

Definitely, yes. If you are going to be replacing the speakers the stock head unit needs to go. The quality difference between stock and aftermarket will be VERY apparent. I wouldn't even bother...

Re: 1993 Saturn SW Power Sunroof HELP!!

Most likely the electronics have bad connections from decades of being in extreme heat. I have had the same problem happen with each of my sunroof modules. In order to fix them you need to de-solder...

Re: What is this cable?

Gear selector for the automatic trans. Looks like you are the victim of a tranny swap. Good thing they went from auto to 5-speed.

Re: exhaust SC2

You can make anything fit with a welder and an angle grinder...

But besides that point, the 1st Gen SC2s were shorter than the other s-cars so their exhaust is shorter overall by a few inches....

Re: Suspension help

B&G are stiffer then stock but not nearly as tight as a true racing spring. I have been running them for about 5 years now. They work great but the ride is pretty harsh on bumps. If you hit a bump...

Re: Saturn Craigslist Deal of the Day!

Another low mileage one. Looks like these are starting to creep out of the woodwork...why can't I find a low-mileage 95-96 SC2?

Re: Adding factory sunroof to non-sunroof car

The leak on your passenger floor is probably coming in through the seal in the firewall. I had the same problem too and it makes for a big rust problem if you let it go too long. Check out this...
