Re: Unusual wheel bearing noise -- hard to diagnose

Caliper sticking, meaning the piston not retracting enough as to create a bit of brake drag on the rotor. Since the rotor is not true, the pad touches at the rotors high spot every time it comes...

Re: Long crank, egr code

What brand thermostat did you get? Some brands are better than others. The Stant 14279 is the recommended thermostat. It reuses the OEM housing where some other aftermarket brands (MotoRad for...

Re: Long crank, egr code

The operating temperature should be in the 190-195 F range. The original resin tipped ETCS is known for cracking and failing. It often fouls the electrical connector too. Both should be checked...

Re: "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light on my 2002 SC2

I understand the dielectric grease is at the spark plug boots not the...

Re: "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light on my 2002 SC2

Not much to it, unplug the spark plug wires (remember the order though) and they just unbolt off the engine. I can't access YouTube to test this link but there is a YouTube video for it. If this...

Re: "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light on my 2002 SC2

Yes, there are 2 coils plugged into the ignition control module. You can swap them right for left and see if the problem moves to a different cylinder. You can do the same with the spark plug and...

Re: Engine / Transmission Mounts

If you're really concerned about the cost but want OEM you can try getting some OEM ones from the auto wreckers. The upper trans mount under the battery from a 2002 S Series (GEN3) would be what...

Re: high beam doesn't stay on

That doesn't sound right. I have owned GEN1, GEN2 and GEN3 S Series and they all pull towards the steering wheel to turn on high beams. A light touch will give you flash to pass and a more firm...

Re: light that indicates low coolant is coming on lately

I was referencing the included quote and its photo showing the area that typically cracks on the S Series radiator. It's a photo looking square on rather than from the top down like yours.

I...

Re: Sl1 front end noise

I was going to say strut mounts until you mentioned changing gears. When strut mounts go they tend to bind when turning and then the spring makes a popping noise when they finally let go. Also...

Re: Coolant Leaking

Check on the drivers side end cap of the radiator (engine side) for cracking; a common failure area as per the photo below. The opposite side may also share the same fate. More photos here >> What...

Re: Does anyone know where this wire's supposed to go?

I looked on my spare wire harness from my 99 parts car and unfortunately that wire was cut. I looked on my 99 daily driver and I confirmed that the marker light and the windshield washer was indeed...

Re: Prothane Dogbone Bushings same for 00-02?

I believe they only fit the one design of OEM dogbone mount; the 1999-2002 version that looks like the photo below. This version is compatible with earlier model years and all body styles.

More photos here >> http://www.cristhomas.com/cars/FuelFilter/FuelFilterHowTo.html

I think the two lines coming from the tank can only fit one way anyways. They appear to be different diameters.
