To further elaborate, the 3 nuts are tight, the set screw which holds the knob to the plastic was tight. When you set the mirror to where you want and then drive a while, the mirror eventually...

The 94 SL mirror keeps on moving when you hit bumps. I took off the inside cover and can see the plunger is not applying enough pressure. Cannot figure how to tighten. Can it be fixed?

GM makes these decisions so you are not going to get interchangeability across the lineup, you could get wheels from the similiar model in other GM brands. Or go the custom wheel route
