Re: How to tell that you own a Saturn S

You search for a gas station that's 2 less than the one you just passed, and you only need 10 gallons.
Do the math.

Re: End of the line for Junk Yards

They are also getting zoned and legislated out of existence by communities who don't want the "eyesores".

Re: I'm a Saturn owner. I'm cheap and I'm proud!

Yep. Still here, still driving my '98 SW2 (mine since '07), and still cheap.

Re: Wrecked Saturns

I was rammed in the driver's door by a Volvo six years ago. Demolished the door, caved in the post with the hinges, broke the fender and windshield . I had to go in and out the passenger side.
The...

Re: War on tailgaters.

I have considered more extreme measures, like putting nozzles at the rear that shoots out old motor oil, and tossing rocks out the window. But in a state where any nut job can carry a concealed gun...

War on tailgaters.

No matter what speed I go, I'm always tailgated. At or over the speed limit. Don't tell me to speed up or pull over, ain't gonna happen.
I had this made a few months ago. Tailgating went from always...

Re: Mpg??????

My '98 SW2 manual gets 32-35 local driving, 37-39 highway. I've had a high of 45 one tankful at high altitude in Co., and that was going up and down high passes.

Re: Rotella T-6, 5w40 synthetic, less than $10/gallon at AutoZone

Not at my local AZ. Where did you get 2 gallons for $20?

Re: Radiator fan squealing

I'll be 86. Hopefully I can still turn wrenches.
Another question. I let it get to 220 and the fan turned on. It quickly dropped to 210 and I shut the engine off. Should the fan still have been...

You mean I'll have to replace it again in 20 years? It never ends.

Re: Radiator fan squealing

It was no simple thing to lube the bearings, and I think it was shot anyway. I just replaced it. Now it's blowing good like a Satty should.
I've oiled noisy electric fans in my computer and even a...

Re: Radiator fan squealing

How would you go about oiling it? Can the bearing be accessed and what kind of oil or grease?

Radiator fan squealing

Yesterday my radiator fan started to squeal when it first turned on (no a/c). It quiets down, but then squealed again today when started by turning on the a/c.
Can the fan motor be oiled, or just...

Re: Aftermarket Headlight Options

If you're looking for more light, search for the quad headlight mod. It allows the low beams to stay on when the high beams are on. Helps a lot, but no help when just on low.

Re: Rear wheels slide out on slippery surfaces

WAY underinflated. Those tires can take 44 psi, adjusted downward for lighter cars, but not that far down. With the pressure that low, the car is riding on the edges of the tires and almost no...

Re: best snow tires for SL?

I get good results with Blizzaks. I haven't tried them in deeper snow, but on hard pack and ice, they grip well.

Re: Flywheel

When I was into BMW motorcycles, the big thing was to lighten the heavy flywheel. It would allow the revs build faster, which was fine for racing and fast sport riding. The problem was, it also made...

Re: 31 psi FRONT, 28 psi REAR

No matter how many times you say this, you're still dead wrong. You don't adjust pressure up or down because you're not happy or it doesn't feel right or it doesn't look right. If the same tire with...

Alternative center caps

Has anyone found a substitute for the stock center caps for the alloy rims? Any other model or something homemade?
It needs to fit without being a project and cheap.

Re: Engine Oil Drain Plug and Gasket

Mine always leaked and the drain plug almost fell out, no matter how well torqued it was.
Now I put a dab of RTV gasket sealer at the base of the threads and the collar. Not up the threads, you...
