Re: Where is the output speedsensor on the L300 V6 Sedan?

Since we bought this car, it has a full & complete service history. The only issues we had with the transmission was the hard shifting coupled with wrench light a few years ago. Again we took it to a...

Re: Where is the output speedsensor on the L300 V6 Sedan?

Thanks.
The guy who checked the car over (he was an ex Saturn owner & techy) said that something had broken in the tranny and the metal part had hit the sensor and actually punctured it. When I...

Where is the output speedsensor on the L300 V6 Sedan?

My son has a 2003 V6 L300. He's just gone back to college, so he's 200 miles away in Jacksonville, FL and I'm not far from Orlando. He phoned me late last week to say the speedo had gone ape and one...

Re: Lw200 speaker reccomendations?

My lads L300 sedan speakers were also shot. The oem GM ones are paper cones with foam flexi pieces on them and they just disintegrate. Like you, as I was paying, I didn't want to spend much. I...

Re: Redoing front suspension.

Just as an additional comment. You said you are replacing the axle shaft/drive shafts. Having had these done late last year on my son's 2003 L300, we found out after ordering the drive shafts from RA...

Re: No Start problem

Just my 5 cents worth. totally agree with Fryer about the burned out bulbs. Many have the situation with noticing a running issue on their car and they take it to the auto shop to have the Codes...

Re: Wheel Issues and Alignment

It sounds like you have a casting crack or the rim has gone porous. Not fixable if porous I am afraid.

Re: Wheel Issues and Alignment

Just a couple of points;

Aluminum as a metal can become porous. I know, as I had it with a inner drive line casting on my ex's Chrysler a few years back go porous. Oil was actually leaking through...

Re: Stripped Out Rear Strut Spindle Bolt

This is the only video I believe anyone has done on swapping out the rear strut. The car was very much a northern car with the battle he had removing that bolt you have stripped.

Re: Steel/zinc bolts and nuts OK for exhaust?

Marine Suppliers/Stores are a great source for SS nut, bolts, etc. All boats require SS fasteners to last. When I had my boat I bought all my SS stuff from West marine. They were way cheaper than...

Re: Possible ground issue

On the middle image there are the 2 rotary switches that when knobs are attached change temp on the left and fan speed on the right. My suggestion would be to spray electronics fluid down into those...

Re: Possible ground issue

Instead of disassembling, why not squirt the electronics cleaner where the knob is and let it flow into the insides, then wiggle the rotary control around. It's electronics cleaner so will not do any...

Re: Possible ground issue

This may be a dumb question but with the variable temperature switch could it just be acting up from nothing more than a build up of dust on the contacts?

I have two examples of dust; one was the...

Re: Idle surge when shift, until normal running temp

I did say 'to my knowledge", meaning I wasn't certain. My knowledge is with the V6. I'll leave the 4 bangers to their own devices from now on as I get myself in to trouble. LOL

Re: Idle surge when shift, until normal running temp

"Checked throttle cables"?

To my knowledge all L series are drive by wire throttles. They don't have cables.

Re: Tire Pressure correct PSI

I don't think anyone is arguing over tire pressure now. I think Russet has been given all he needs. Now we simply have gone off topic.

Personally I have no objections to anyone who does whatever...

Re: Tire Pressure correct PSI

Not a doomsday prepper. The Polk County area is a very 'red neck' county in Central Florida so lifted big tired pick up trucks are considered daily drivers to some here. We also have no inspections...

Re: Tire Pressure correct PSI

Yes. low profile tires always equals hard ride. I know that some vehicles do look good with bigger rim sizes as they 'fill' the wheel arch better, but some just look plain stupid.

Whilst you have...

Re: Tire Pressure correct PSI

My ex wife some years ago had a 1996 Chrysler Sebring Convertible. Nice to look at but terrible reliability. When we bought the car it had the standard rims but the previous owner had installed lower...

Re: Tire Pressure correct PSI

This is what you get when you go off OEM. I can only suggest contacting the people who supplied and fitted the tires they sold you. It should not be a guessing game, certainly not with tires.

I...

Decal for tire pressures is on the rear passenger door behind drivers door. It's not complicated.

I watched your video and all I could hear was the loud tapping. So I guess that is the noise you are trying to convey to us. It is very difficult to make any accurate diagnosis when you are not...
