Re: SES light during decel

You know, that would make sense as I have been getting a faint whiff of exhaust as I'm driving. The test will probably have to wait until this weekend but I'll let you all know what I find.

Thanks...

Re: SES light during decel

Also, the car has a tendency to buck under acceleration. Not a hard buck, but it's as if the fuel is being cut off just as she gets ready to shift. My Dad is saying it's probably the EGR, but I...

SES light during decel

Hey all, got a '95 SL2 with a slight problem.

I've had her for about two and a half years now, never had a light pop on on the dash. Three months ago she burned a valve, so I pulled the engine...

White Face gauges

Hey all. So I figured I'd go out and buy some white face gauges for my 95 SL2... Only I ran into a problem. Most places that make white face gauges, or online shopping sites like amazon and ebay only...

Re: Battery related question

It's possible. The guy who was jumping was my roommate, and he probably would've just bought the cheapest cables he could find.

Re: high idle 1400rpms

The only other thing I can think of is the ECTS. I had a problem similar to yours where my car would constantly idle at 1100-1400, regardless of operating temp. I plugged in a scanner and found out...

Battery related question

So, this is a bit of a dumb question, but I just wanted your guys' input. 1995 SL2, by the way.

So I got off work tonight, went to my car, and it started up just fine. I get on the road, go about...

Re: DRL's turn on when brakes are on?

Hmm, well I recently had to replace a brake light and a blinker, but all of those bulbs are put where they're supposed to be. I can't imagine the wiring is bad, as the car didn't do this before, and...

Re: DRL's turn on when brakes are on?

Also, I just checked out the fuses and relays, everything seems to be where it needs to be, minus two things.

I'm gonna...

Re: DRL's turn on when brakes are on?

Wait, so if the wrong bulbs are in the brake light housing it could cause the drl's to do that?

Speakers?

So two of the speakers on my SL2 seem to be blown. The drivers side front, and the passenger side rear. I literally have to have the two bass sliders on the cd player turned all the way down or I get...

DRL's turn on when brakes are on?

Hello all, been a while.

I just recently got a newer 95 SL2, (the old one died D:) and one thing I noticed while driving it around is that whenever I step on the brake pedal, the drl's and the...

Squeaky bass speaker

Sorry for the second topic in a row, but my bass speaker has been... squeaking for quite a while, and I know next to nothing about sound systems, or ANYTHING related to them.

So is this squeaking...

Belt squealing

So I've seen a number of threads pop up here that relate to the serpentine belts squealing.

My '95 SL2 after an engine rebuild had this rattle at idle that was rather annoying. After putting up...

Re: removing engine from the top?

When I rebuilt the engine in my sl2, i had already dismantled the entire thing, because we weren't originally planning on doing the whole engine.

Anyways, I believe it was a haynes manual that...

Purdue:
The coolant is... well it's probably old, to say the least, the ratio is just about right though.
The thermostat itself, I believe is the one that came with the car. (could also be entirely...

Car runs a little hot

I own a 1995 SL2, with about 211,000 miles on it. For anyone who doesn't remember (I haven't been here in quite a while) the engine was rebuilt for the most part, the only thing that wasn't done was...

Re: Red Light/Braked...Car Stalled

Who told you you needed piston work? Unless you've got some severe knocking I wouldn't worry that much. Personally I don't trust mechanics. Thankfully many members of my family are/were, so i can get...

Re: Red Light/Braked...Car Stalled

Uh, 95Sat...

No car, ever built, with an automatic transmission will start when the selector is in "Drive"

The only time the car will start is when it is in Park or Neutral.

Definitely...

Racing Pedals

Finally gonna go get some racing pedals for the SL2.

However, when I looked at regular passenger car pedals for an automatic (I know, I need a manual, but the time it would take to swap the tranny...

Re: Idler Pulley Tips? '02 SC2 DOHC

Should hold true for most of the S-series. As far as I know, the engine compartment layout never changed too much.

But then again I've never gone under the hood of every generation and type of...

Speaker Grill

1995 SL2

My passenger front speaker managed to blow out just in time for christmas, so I'm hoping I get some new speakers for the Satty.

Two questions. The speakers in the front are 6-1/2"...

Re: Bird Chirp

I had/have the same problem (it's intermittent)

I think it's a belt rubbing against something. A while ago my belt tensioner started rattling at low RPM, so I swapped it out, then the new one...

Re: Window Regulator

Yes! Thank you Low!

Now here's the tough question, where can I get one, and how fast could I get it?

Edit: The tool, I mean.
