Re: water pump leak advice before I start repair

Exactly what I'm afraid of... and with it being my wife driving it, I'd much rather it not end that way. I've got a new water pump on the way already from my parts hookup. I checked it today after...

Re: water pump leak advice before I start repair

Found this, probably applicable as the 1.9L is more or less the same all the way around on this.

Re: water pump leak advice before I start repair

I suspect our SL2 has the same problem. It's been leaking coolant more and more frequently over the last couple weeks and it appears to be coming from the bottom end of the right side of the block...

Re: Brake light on dash ?

Ok, this is embarrassing... Evidently, after my last brake job, as the pads and shoes settled in, it must have sucked down more of the brake fluid. I checked the reservoir and it was very near the...

Re: How to Remove Wiper Arm - 03 Vue

I have replaced the washer nozzles on my Vue, and I remember having this same problem. I tried prying on the arm while popping the shaft with a brass hammer (GENTLY!) but nothing would pry it loose....

Re: Brake light on dash ?

I've been suffering with similar issues on my '04 RL Vue for a while now. I can remember how a couple years ago, one day as I got in and started it to leave work, before I even put it in reverse, I...

Re: looking for feedback on suspension

I replaced my stock shocks, struts, strut-mates, AND dropped in lowering springs about 35K miles ago. My RL is now an additional 1" lower (2" below stock), which is about the edge of what can be...

Re: 2007 Vue Disable Keyless Entry Honk

I've noticed in the last few months that on my primary key fob (which is amazingly still on the original battery), when I get out and hit lock, I get a 2nd button click (which honks the horn and...

Re: Black Redline Wheels for sale...MD

I had a 2nd set of RL wheels just like those powder coated a dark gunmetal gray (not painted) also with a clear coat put on, and I left the center caps as-is because well you can't PC plastic or...

Re: Complete brake job parts list

Thanks... What exactly was leaking on you?

Whenever I've got the drums off, I always take the time to rough up the painted outside surface with Scotch-brite, then spray them down with Simple...

Wrench Complete brake job parts list

Hey gang,

I'm planning on doing a full brake job on my '04 Redline soon. I'm at 107K miles and I've replaced the front pads and rotors once, but the rear is OEM. I had the drums off recently and...

Re: Headlights

Lookin' good there!

I really like the look of all clears on the Silver Vue. On other colors it doesn't make as much difference. But, whenever I see a stock Vue, that crazy orange corner...

Re: clear corner markers

Heh sorry about the bumpage...

I prefer clear lenses over smoked/tinted pretty much with no exceptions. They're LIGHTS... why would you want to make them darker? If you're going for the blacked...

Re: clear corner markers

It'll buff out.

Here's my clear corners I got off flea-bay forever ago. I've only had to re-glue them recently.

Re: Headlights

As you can see in the first picture there, I didn't have the lens protectors on yet. They are completely invisible up top, but give the fogs a yellow tint all the time (naturally). I thought I'd...

Re: Headlights

I also have Silverstar turn signal bulbs, which I think are the greatest bulbs EVER... and of course the headlights are the same for the standard beams. The high-beams are the only OEM bulbs I have,...

Re: Headlights

Here are the old and new side-by-side on the floor of the garage, just so you can see how different they look. You can't really see so well, but the plastic lenses on my now-6-year-old OEM assemblies...

Headlights

I've long wanted to replace the dark-gray headlight assemblies on my '04 RL with those from the '05 model, since I liked the "bright" look better. I'm no fan of chrome (which is one reason I love my...

Re: How do I upload a photo?

I am bummed to see that this is still the status, 9 months later. I was hoping to create a new gallery with some new pics of some work I've done, but that upload button is still AWOL.

Oh, and for reference, here's a picture of my existing hardware... I don't think it's supposed to be cracked like that.

Re: The start of the LED taillights

Cool. I figured you'd found some wide-angle LEDs, as they're a lot more available now than they used to be 5 years ago when I tinkered with such a thing.

You're right about those plastic...
