Re: Oil seeping from valve cover gasket

Hi JFS.

When I smelled oil at stoplights, it usually was the bloody exhaust flex connector. Already been through 3 of them.

Also, when I changed the valve cover & gasket, the ceramics on all...

Re: Astra 45k mile service - inexpensive & runs like new!

CD30 radio system sounded worse than usual. I checked the balance and fader and it was obvious driver's tweeter was not working.

So I removed the tweeter panel on the driver's door and it was not...

Re: Connectivity Update (Bluetooth, Dash Cams, and Recent DIC Systems)

c. 2009 Best Buy installed a iPhone charger / audio player. Complete hack job. I wrote the brand of kit somewhere on the forum. Sound quality was terrible and I think it was draining power 24/7.

Re: Neutral safety switch, some info. and a question.

I don't think you can bypass the transmission safety switches easily. Nor should you. I can't recall any Astras with this issue but in any case it is not a popular problem.

But your issues might...

Re: Where is the Astra blower motor resistor?

Search my posts for some more information. Then do more detailed research on the internet.

Odd that your resistor blew twice within 18 months; maybe the core issue was not fixed. If the cabin air...

Re: Slow coolant leak...radiator?

Is that the windshield washer pump?

If so, I had the same leak. I think I fixed it by carefully removing the 90* elbow, inspecting the areas for damage, saw no cracks and just put some black...

Re: How To - Timing Belt Replacement

Typical spark plug change on these is about 30,000 miles; check out the service manual. That is popular interval on the forum. Otherwise you kill the coilpack and car runs poorly.

For low mileage,...
