Re: code 51 rear axle fail (MOTOR FREE SPINS)

He's trying to figure out how to fix his ABS and thinks making a new thread with less and less info for every new question is the right way to go about it :dizzy:

ABS codes are hard enough to...

Re: Performance Intake manifold for dohc

Pretty much only have what you can create with a welder and/or die grinder. I don't believe the stock PCM will net you much, if any, gains from doing any intake work but you might feel something with...

Re: Engine swap question

Change the oil pressure and knock sensors to the '97 style.
If the '97 was built after 12/97 you'll have to use the '97 alternator OR change the plug to the '93 style.
You'll need someone to weld...

Re: code 51 rear axle fail (MOTOR FREE SPINS)

Attached AllData's info. The one that includes 47 & 48 is more of an update/TSB sort of thing while the singular 51 is the full diagnostic info.

Re: Is it possible to bleed a donor abs out of car?

If you have a laptop just get a VXDiag VCX Nano from Amazon for $120. The virtual machine that comes on the DVD with it doesn't have the Tech 2 emulator installed by default, but once it's installed...

Re: Is it possible to bleed a donor abs out of car?

Isn't that how everyone bleeds the master cylinder? Take the outputs from the MC and pipe it back to the fill cap and pump until the bubbles stop?

Far as I know the ABS unit isn't separate from...

Re: all dash lights flickering + engine wants to stall

The tensioner shouldn't move much, if at all, without a tool directly on it. Between that and the belt condition I'm betting the alternator isn't turning smoothly and slipping quite often which leads...

Re: Tranny Slipping into 2nd and 4th

The cheap way to fix it is to loosen the bolts (just crack the lower loose, fully loosen the top) and hammer the top of the knuckle in. Then go test (tighten the bolts first), if it feels good...

Re: Cyl 3 misfire at idle... couple dumb questions

Hope this doesn't confuse the OP but I did run a slightly modified '96 SC2 with the wires flipped around with 0 issue's. My dad had a bunch of '94 Cavi Z24 parts, I figured the coils might be more...

Re: Cyl 3 misfire at idle... couple dumb questions

People that don't know better swap the plug wires around all the time then wonder why it's misfiring...
They have a 'polarity', a stronger primary fire and a weaker secondary fire. The secondary...

Re: sc2 aftermarket lights mod help

The activation circuit (pin 85 & 86) only needs low amps (lowest rated fuse you can find) while the load circuit (pin 30 & 87/87a) needs higher amps to run whatever you wish it to (your relay says...

Re: Getting back in a Saturn - 95 SL2 M/T

Sometimes the nut gets a tad loose and lets the wiper arm slide around, if the wiper's look like they move too far to the driver side then I'd let them park remove the nut and reset their location to...

Re: Adding LED lights?

18-14 awg wire would be fine for nearly any average cost automotive light. I'd go with 16g wire for off-road style lights as long as it's a quality wire that measures the gauge of the copper wire and...

Re: Engine swap

If you never go above about 75% throttle it'll be fine, otherwise the SOHC PCM's idea of full throttle fueling will go lean on the DOHC and burn up valves.
Depending on year swapping the PCM is a...

Re: Do rear brakes engage in park on abs vehicle?

I believe the startup test you're describing is only a bulb check, not an actual ABS check. The actual ABS check comes at 5mph.

You can either blindly test things such as the wheel speed sensor...

86 Trigger - (ground switched source ie: high...

Re: 98 to 99 swap

If they both are automatic and the same DOHC or SOHC transmission than it should be a direct no-issue swap. Going from MP7 to MP6 or MP6 to MP7 won't work at all; going from auto->manual requires a...

Re: Help buying another SL (by monday) :P

ABS was an option on every model, except possibly SL, '91-'02. Rear disc was an option '91-'97, probably standard w/ABS on SC/SC2/SL2 for those years. SOHC's & SW2's got rear drums and starting in...

If you use 3rd gen SC headlights, you kinda rather need to use a 3rd gen SC hood too. They have that silly/stupid raised eyebrow thing going on, pretty sure it interferes with the 2nd gen hood at...
