Re: New Aura Green Line review

Perhaps, and among many other factors. Speaking personally, I researched and got the best of all worlds (IMHO) Better mpg, a ~$3k lower price and a far superior warranty. All in a car with the same...

Re: New Aura Green Line review

The point being of course that that $3k would purchase the fuel for said vehicle for quite possibly the first 2 years or so of ownership. Add on the interest on the loan for that $3k, and it...

Re: New Aura Green Line review

What if the model that gets 1-3 mpg less, is also $3K more expensive with the same equipment.....

Re: New Aura Green Line review

Guess its time to put this one to rest...you did keep asking why the VUE and not a "compact or midsize wagon"... I hope the rational is understood now.

Interesting too...how with a 100+ day...

Re: New Aura Green Line review

There basically are no "compact" or "midsize" wagons...remember this for the post? (Does such a thing even exist?) I also mentioned the need for the LARGER (taller) cargo capacity.

This much...

Re: New Aura Green Line review

If you are referring to E85 "flexfuel" vehicles...those are a joke. They actually get LESS MPG on E85 than straight gasoline, Ethanol is NOT a sustainable fuel, the the cost of using more and more...

Re: New Aura Green Line review

Reread mine...my justification for the VUE (and the fact that I got the best MPG vehicle in its class, better even than many cars) is also quite clear.

Driving is a priveledge, not a right.

Re: New Aura Green Line review

That is pretty much all I have been trying (in vain until now) to point out. That, AND, that hybrids are also just the latest bill of goods being sold to Americans as the only truely "economical"...

Re: New Aura Green Line review

A compact or midsize (does such a thing even exist today?) wagon did not have the large (tall) cargo capacity and the fuel economy was a wash (my VUE is a 2.2 4 remember?) The reason I did not go...

Re: New Aura Green Line review

I bought the SL2 used, and it was the best deal on the lot, for a small car, at the time. I could have also purchased a much larger vehicle or SUV either new or used, but the SL2 suited my needs at...

Re: New Aura Green Line review

Uh huh... and how do you suppose GM paid for the plants it built in Canada, Mexico and Europe that now employ Canadians, Mexicans and Europeans from various countries? Where did that money come...

Re: New Aura Green Line review

Based on what? While it may take me a while to glean confirmation and/or the exact numbers, I'd be willing to bet that at least GM and Ford employ more people outside the US than in it....

Re: New Aura Green Line review

Enjoy your fantasy, for there are not really any trully "American" cars anymore. (Like it, or believe it or not)

I akin the arguement of its an "American company!" to Levi-Strauss. ...

Re: New Aura Green Line review

Did I not say unnecessary horsepower? Perhaps a displacement tax would be easier to understand. For instance, in the UK, a car with a 2 Liter engine is considered (generally) to be overpowered or...

Re: New Aura Green Line review

Indeed. And I will freely admit that the light traffic (relatively) and summer climate..it is 62dF outside as I type this, DO contribute to my ability to get far better than "average" MPG out of all...

This is probably true. Though I am not going to actually buy an AURA GL to discover if I can also get optimal mileage on it as well. I do stand by the fact that even with Government tax incentives,...

Re: New Aura Green Line review

I regularly BEAT the EPA estimates on both the Sonata and our 05' 2.2 VUE Automatic. Doing the "math" and comparing to the read out at fuel up time, I have found it to be consistantly spot on. I...
