Short runs, expressway backups, crawling & lots of idling, high speed, wide open spaces....?
Look, the guy at least...

Re: Fuel Pump confirmation

If you're sure on the pump hum, then you need to locate the Schrader valve, remove the cap, cover it with a clean rag and then depress the center valve and there should be gas spraying out.
If not,...

Re: Fuel Pump confirmation

Have you listened for the hum from the fuel pump as it is priming?
If the area is quiet, when you turn the key to ON (not start position) there should be an audible hum from the rear of the car for...

Re: Is the starter on 1991 SL-2 hard to get to?

Wow did he see your money coming into his pocket!!!
YAH, if he were honest, he would have FIRST tested the battery, and if indeed it's 8 years old, he would have replaced it. Sure a good AGM battery...

Re: ECTS 94 sl2

I would pull those platinum plugs out and install simple, old fashioned copper core spark plugs. These are cheap, and are designed for the 'waste spark' ignition system that our Satty's were designed...

Re: "Shocks" or "Struts"?

Most all FWD cars (your car included) use McPherson STRUTS, 1 each side up front.
Looks similar to a shock absorber that's surrounded by a coil spring.

Re: Rotella T-6, 5w40 synthetic, less than $10/gallon at AutoZone

My favorite extended length one is the Purolator L20195 (still use one on my Malibu Maxx too): I believe the PL20195 version is greater filtration, but I haven't used that one.

Re: Does 2002 SL2 have traction control?

Hey Fetch, please clarify your last statement.
"'95-'02 were ABS & TC no matter the transmission.",
My 98 SW2 did not have ABS, no TC either, but had rear drums.

Re: 98' SL2 Auto For Sale - 200K - Mint Condition Asking $650

Are you near the car in Texas, or just moved from Ohio? (614=Ohio).
That's the oddity and confusion of portable cell phone numbers these days.

Re: 1999 SC2 Driver's Brake Light Out

Re: 1999 SC2 Driver's Brake Light Out

Either a bad socket, corroded socket or broken wire then.
Use a 12vdc probe light to pierce wiring and determine where you have 12v and where you do not.
Get one at most auto parts stores, walmart...

Re: P0341 code 2002 SL2 automatic

For a dozen years on 6 vehicles I use:
Acetone or lacquer thinner.
