Re: SL fender size for shipping

UPS & Freight used to charge by weight but for some while charge by weight & volume. So a light product that takes up a lot of space will still cost a chunk of change.

Re: SL fender size for shipping

If you are having it shipped then it may be better to have it sent TRUCK FREIGHT rather than by UPS or FedEx. UPS and I suspect FedEx also can be picky when it comes to the size and weight of...

Re: HELP!!! L200 is out of whack.

I think Mr Fryer mentioned about getting out of park in his post on May 15.. If the battery is dead it sounds like you have a battery or charging issue. Once your voltages go out of whack, then the...

Re: '02 Saturn SL1 upgrade advice wanted

My 5 cents...

If you have a drivers handbook with the car or you have a Haynes Manual, you will see the recommended scheduled maintenance intervals. Try and stick to those if you can.

As an SL1...

Re: Remote key less entry

If the clicking/chattering is coming from the door lock/unlock switch on the door panel, then you need to replace those switches. As cheap goes I have not seen anything cheaper designed than those...

Re: HELP!!! L200 is out of whack.

OK. Thanks for that update. No sin not to be mechanically minded. Very few on here are mechanics per se, just folks who want to keep down costs and keep a vehicle on the road.

I think if you can...

Re: HELP!!! L200 is out of whack.

Although the poster does not state it openly, I am making a broad assumption that he is not very mechanically minded (nothing wrong with that).

So methinks that suggestions of buying readers,...

Re: HELP!!! L200 is out of whack.

An Autozone alternator is showing up between $150.00 and $220.00 for your + tax. You can get them cheaper at places like Rock Auto, etc.

Not sure where you are located but a battery will usually...

Re: 2002 L200w manual transmission maintenance question

As Pierrot said the drivers handbook does give you a maintenance schedule for various things to be checked or changed on the vehicle. Usually the Handbook will say check this weekly, monthly or by...

Re: HELP!!! L200 is out of whack.

Just my 5 cents....

The OBD11 system is the standard Onboard Diagnostics system that ALL cars have. As Pierrot said there are certain aspects of the 'reporting system' on GM cars that can only be...

Re: Saturn SW2 spark plug well seals

My son has a 2002 SL2 dohc so I can only comment on that valve cover. It has TWO gaskets. One is the OUTER gasket that fits on the perimeter of the valve cover and the second gasket fits on the...

Re: Why are the L-Series so bad?

The L series was derived from the European Opel Vectra, which was rebadged and sold as a Vauxhall Vectra in the UK and a Holden Vectra in Australia. The underpinnings were also used in the Saab 9-3...

"So the yearly wheel bearing replacement came up again"

Just curious why you change the yearly? Do you do a lot of annual miles or what? Yearly seems excessive to say the least.

My son's '02...

Fully agree with Pierrot on this. Parts for our orphan Satty's get harder and harder. Besides the specialist supplier that Pierrot mentioned, and the junk yards, you could always just Google and see...

I am still none the wiser.

Re: Outer Door Skin bolts jammed - 2002 SL2

I don't know whether this helps. Here's a link to a site that sells Satty door skins. If you look through the ones for sale, they have one which shows the reverse side of the panel.

Re: SC1 Redlining during exciting test drive

Nothing to offer on the vehicle other than if you want to buy it, get them to fix the issue, simple as that.

On the issue of 'controlling the car' as you put it, you were driving a manual. It's...

Re: L 300 R/S B-pillar molding

That part is one of 3 applique panels that fits on the A, B and C pillars. You 'may' be able to find one new, but it's a long shot. Just Google GM 22694624 and see what turns up. They appe4ar to be...
